Haven't posted since Friday i think because we have had a bit of a busy one. Only having chance now because DS1 has fell asleep and DS2 is playing happily at my feet for a bit.
Anyway, lots achieved so i can't complain.
Saturday - lots of shopping- staples - trolley on wheels for me for work, and other stationary gubbins i needed
- clarks - got DS1 measured and bought him new pair of trainers as he is currently growth spurting again
- brantano - got myself a new pair of shoes with birthday money for work - should not get blisters now
- boots - nappies, baby wipes, toothpaste for us and kids, kids snacks, cotton wool roll and baby wash
- party shop - party invites and some gubbins for Ds2's birthday party in 2 weeks
- M and S - black and tan pop socks for me for work, some food - added 15 p to a credit note i had from a returned xmas pressie
- argos - got mini walk in greenhouse and DS2's birthday pressie and used up £20 of vouchers
- homebase - got some fence stuff to put round veg patch now stuff is growing a bit bigger
- came home, DH built the greenhouse and put up hanging baskets for me
- moved the plants around a bit to get more light, watered and fed them
- DH did some dandelion removal and sorted out a wonky paving slab on the patio
- we debated doing some decking before ds2's party but then decided it was too much like hard bloomin work
- i made a roast chicken dinner (meal deal for £10 from MandS)
- we got all the washing up done
- bathed the kids
- watched a film off the digi box (the 39 steps) which wasn't as good as the play we saw last year, but was ok - decluttered a bottle of rose
- i wrote ds2's party invites
- made chicken stock in slow cooker overnight
- changed DS2's wet bed
- fed/washed/dressed the kids all day
- fed and watered cats
- put out glass/cardboard and tin recycling
- strained the stock
- peeled veggies and made a chicken and veg soup
- peeled veggies for tonights dinner
- ran steriliser/made up some bottles
- WM - white load of kids stuff
- emptied radiator airers and got stuff away
- went to MrM's for some essential supplies - hate going on my own with both kids but i've done it twice over the school hols and they were really good
- put food shop away
- washed up lunch and breakie stuff
- played outside with boys with a ball and the trampoline for about 2 hours
I'm just glad tomorrow isn't a proper teaching day.
I'm going to have to join in properly this week or we'll never be ready for the party0 -
Rach - i'd say fruit flies too. Try a yoghurt pot with a bit of diluted vinegar, a bit of sugar and a dash of washing up liquid. It attracts them in and then they can't fly back out the liquid so they are killed. I found that worked well for me last summer when we had a swarm when we left a compost bag on the side when we went on holiday for a week. It took a few days to completely get rid of them.0

that could be it valli and michelle. Grrr, compost will have to go. I bought some herbs this weekend so will pot up them and then chuck the rest of the bag/put it in DH's parents garage (no safe outside space here!). they look smaller than that - they're really tiny, almost just look like specs of dust!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

Nearly there with all the planting up. Just got the leek seedlings to do. I want to get them in today - seems we've warm weather all week so it'll give them time to acclimatise before it gets cold and miserable again.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Just a thought re the compost Rach - if you've not opened the bag yet, it's unlikely to be from there.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Rach have you got any pot plants in the house - they are probably coming from there.
Dahlias done. Bulbs next and then dinner to start - might delegate that. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
i was thinking you meant a bag of stuff you were keeping to put in a compost heap? I've not heard of anything coming off a bag of shop bought compost?
Is it like the weevils you get in flour? Mum had a problem with something like this in her kitchen from a stack of old papers once. I don't think they flew though?
Could be your fruit bowl though too if it's fruit flies. Look for small holes in fruit, or bits that look bruised/soft0 -
Rach I had a similar problem a couple of years back and it was a bag of compost that was the culprit - and they were everywhere in the flat not just near the bag - as sson as I moved the compost outside I managed to get rid of them in a couple of days.
:T:T:T Congratulations aunty Shazba and the proud parents - he took his time didnt he!!! his mummy must have been well pleased to finally give birth
