.......and I'm one of them!!!
Congratulations emma_b - there must be something in the air!!! :j
I'm meant to be due around 6th November!! This will be my 3rd, but feel different this time....don't really have any symptoms to speak of!! Felt really tired before - maybe that'll just hit a little later!
As your OH says - there's never the 'right time' for it to happen! We've not long got rid of all baby toys/clothes etc etc....hey ho - more spending needed I suppose!
Saw my GP today, told her I'd done 2 tests (I've actually done 5!) they're not going to re-test - just referring me to the midwife etc....don't forget that you also get free prescriptions/dental treatment whilst pregnant and for a year afterwards!!!:money:
Best of luck! Let us know how you get on!!!20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

hi!
Sharra and brummiebabe, i am due 31st october (haloween uhoh) anyway tonight i have told my mum and dad and they have been brilliant, mum even said she will try to get part time so i can finish uni which is just great of her. brother was dead chuffed too. we have decided to tell mums and dads and close friends (who would notice )and thats it for now (famous last words)
so much has happned in one day i feel worn out!!
going to bed a little happier than last night though and is good to know theres another two out there, it comes in threes as they say!!
thankyou for all your support...by the way, the holiday doubt i will be going, mum and dad have said they will buy our places and they will go, so we wont even lose our deposit. they have been fantastic...just dont know how the other 6 will feel with my mum and dad there LOL!!
going to docs on thurs so will keep you posted!
did another test today, my last one! and was positive im guessing that 4 positives must mean i am pregnant!!!
we are telling OHs parents on thurs when we see them then that will be it for a few weeks, make sure all is okay first (as a student nurse on the childrens ward and worked on neonatal units i am very paranoid...too much information can be a scary thing sometimes..but im being positive!)
thabnks every1 once again you are all absolute stars!!0 -
Your guess might just be right - I doubt you'd get a run of 4 false positivesdid another test today, my last one! and was positive im guessing that 4 positives must mean i am pregnant!!!

Not sure if this has already been posted but here goes.
Firstly congratulations, as this was my first baby.

Congratulations!
You could always go away for a few days while you've got the two weeks off. Somewhere cheaper and closer to home. Esp if the insurance will cover you getting your deposit back.

Hiya,
Just wanted to add to the congrats. :j I was also 23 when I found out I was pregnant...the monday after my very drunken Hen party! (how bad did I feel!) It felt like I had been hit by a sledgehammer when It came out positive and I also had tons of tests to convince myself! We had no money at the time as we had spent it on the wedding and spent days wondering whether it was the right time.
Anyway, we went ahead and my lil boy turns 6 next week...absolutely no regrets!
Nothing to lose, loads to gain IMHO.
Good Luck!"There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -
Congratulations! 23 is the perfect age in my opinion to be having a baby. Re. the folic acid pls. make sure you get 400mcg daily and that you don't take vit. A (something I only found out too late but luckily no damage done). I guess you know this if you've worked on a neonatal ward. I'm expecting my first in June at the grand old age of 39 and it was planned but I still occasionally panic and think "hang on, stop, rewind, how do I get off this ride?". There will never be a right time really. Take your trip, you won't get another on your own for a long long time. I'd rather be morning sick lying on the beach than stuck at home any day. You don't need to spend much on baby stuff. There's lots of tips on here to save money on baby items, I've saved heaps. I've got almost everything and I think in total it will cost me under £300. The first thing I did was go shopping at charity shops and picked up a years worth of clothing for next to nothing, and all good quality. Taking my time shopping has really saved money. Sounds like you'll get lots of support from your family which is fantastic!0

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to you ((hugs))
You need to check about travelling to Egypt, you'll be fine but they can be a bit funny about you having to have injections, i was going to go to Africa and they advised that they can not give you them in the 1st 3 months.
I'm now 23 weeks pregnant
It was a massive shock to me as i'd been on this forum only a few months before saying that i didn't think i could have kids
I thought i was about 6 weeks when i took the tests and found out, after the first dating scan at 12 weeks i was advised that i was 18  so now it's a bit of a rush to get everything done.
i too had a holiday booked in June which we promptly cancelled as soon as we found out about me being pregnant and change the dates to May as i would be 28 weeks flying back.
But now obviously my dates have changed again and i'll be flying back at 33 week  My midwife has advised that as i am having a perfectly heathly pregnancy he has no problems about me flying and will write me a letter to advise the airline.
My advise is speak to your doctor and he / she will give you all of the information you need.
Congrats again.0 -
Hi Emma
Big big congratulations!
Egypt might be a problem as most airlines won't take you after the 26th week of pregnancy, you need to work out exact dates then check with the travel agent/tour operator. If you do go you may need to to upgrade your travel insurance to a pregnancy-specific one as most standard insurances won't cover you. Saying that, if you need medical care out there then my experience of it is that it's better than the NHS by a long way! I can't remember what shots you need for Egypt but if you haven't already had them then you won't be able to now I'm afraid. Is it a beach holiday or a nile curise or Ciaro or what? If it is a nile tombs & temples tour then I really would think twice, most women at 6 months are heavily preggers & couldn't manage the steps, inclines & getting on & off the boat. If it's a beach holiday then maybe quite nice.
HTH & good luck;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
