23 isnt that young to have a baby especially when you have 13 yr olds becomming mothers, I had my baby 8months ago nad i was so scared of telling my mum i just thought that she was going to go mad, and i was 24 when i got pregnant, but i just told her and she was great, throughout my pregnancy she was great we went shopping, she brought tickets for us to go to baby show and generally did more than i ever expected, your parents will be great, so dont worry

dont know when to tell them though, my mum always guesses secrets she must be psychic and we are all goin out tonite, for a meal and a drink, which i wont be doing. dont know whether to just tell them get it out in the open and if anything goes wrong, at least we wouldnt have to suffer in silence ?
i think they will be gobsmacked but happy eventually!
spose 23 isnt too young and OH is 28 we are in a solid relationship and have our own house car etc.
i dont know what benefits etc we will be entitled to ? i get bursary of 5k per yr and OH earns approx 17k per yr ? will we get anything?0 -
Congratulations, it sounds of af it is slowly sinking in!!!
23 I think is a brilliant time to have children, not too old, not too young!!
Don't worry about getting drunk, baby will pay you back in dirty nappies and sleepless nights (meant to be a joke, please take it that way.....!!)
(not to mention the puppy dog eyes and all the glorious things that also go with children!!)
Just wanted to give my love and congrats really

Yeah, go to Egypt, have a blast.
Then come home and coo over prams and babygro's. I'm really pleased fo ryou. It may be a shock, but you're blessed.
WELL DONE!!!!!!!
I guess loads of people wait till 12 weeks, but we never could, and told everybody straight away. John would take out an ad in the paper if he was allowed, so pleased of himself is he.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

Rubbish!
I was 21 when I had my eldest and 23 when the youngest was born. It's better being a young mother, as nobody bats an eyelid when you play footy in the street, throw snowballs or have a go on the slide at the park
Here I go again on my own....0 -
i was 22 when i had my daugther and 23 when i had my son. and your other half is right , there never is a right time to have kiddies. but when it happens it changes your view on everything , and you realise how amazing it is , and how nothing else matters.
we were really nervous about telling family i was preg the second time , and we planned to have the 12 week scan and put the scan picture in their xmas card . but as things happened , i was further gone than thought and i had some prob's and had to have loads of scans which meant i needed a baby sitter , so we told in-laws as we needed support from them, but i was still 10 weeks gone b4 we told them.
with next baby were gonna do the scan pic in a card tho , be a real surprise.
as with egypt is it up to you and how u feel. but i was carrying my daugther in 2003 , and on the day when it got to 107 i didn't know what to do with myself, i was in and out of hospital as i couldn't cope with the heat and it brought on prob's and the midwife said nearly everyone on the ward was up there due to the heat. so think about it and talk it over with a midwife.
i agree with black saturn about hand me downs. most of kiddies clothes is hand me downs or from ebay , and you would never know. children grow out of clothes so quickly.0 -
