ermmm..i think im pregnant..

hi, yes im in my 7th week (sounds crazy to me still!) I have talked it over with my friend, who is on same course and a;so pregnant and feel a bit more positive. i love children, im training to be a childrens nurse after workin as a nursery nurse and nanny for years so when the shock wears off im sure we will be happy!

i have made an appointment with my GP for thursday morning.

i am in a dilemma when to tell my parents and brother, as brother is relocating on thurs and i wont see him till august, he is going to live with preg OH as it happens!i would like to tell him beofre he goes but he wouldnt keep it secret. this would mean we have to tell both sets of parents. also we have booked a group hol so we have to tell the others really.

Egypt....hmm. i dont know, would be ok to travel (i think) but we owe another £750 and then there is spend, aslo it will be HOT in july and dont think i want to sweat it out really! will speak to the doctor though,. i think it is more money we are thinking really..save the hol money we will need it!

i will get some folic acid tomorow, also got plenty of brocolli and spinach, good source apparently

it isnt the right time for us but then again as OH said is there ever a right time?

thankyou for your replies, im still in disbelief and expecting to 'come on' this month. i waited 2weeks afetr period was due as i have been busy with assignments, too! and brother leaving etc. feel so bad though as got very drunk on sat, i really did have no idea i was pregnant, i have had no signs.

surely after 3 tests though i need to realise its real and i am...

Phone your doctors up and make an appointment. Tell the receptionist you have just found out your pregnant as some surgeries like you to see the nurse for this and some the doctor. They will do an NHS pregnancy test just to confirm that you really are pregnant. Usually you have to wait 2 weeks or so for official confirmation but if you already KNOW for sure you are don't worry about it. In the meantime go to the DSS and/or post office where they will have information on what benefits you could claim. You need the official confirmation before you can send the forms off though.

It will take a little while to sink in but when it does you will be over the moon. Leave the baby clothes buying a little while yet. I told everyone about both of my pregnancies straight away. But I realise there is a risk in that.

A pregnancy usually lasts around 40 weeks from the date of conception but your first appointment with a midwife will give you a due date.

I had my first baby right in the middle of doing my A levels. I even had to bring her along with me a couple of times as there were no babysitters available. I used to do most of my studying while she was asleep and in the evenings and I managed to get 7 A levels at grade A so it can be done.

My sister is living and working in Sharm-el-Sheik and is less than 12 weeks pregnant.
By the sounds of it she is getting to see Doctors faster than she would here and has been pleased with the support she has been getting.
Therefore there should be no reason why you shouldn't go to Egypt so long as it's not a month or so before you are expecting.

Don't beat yourself up too much about getting drunk on Sat, as long as you don't do it again. One of my friends had a boozy weekend in London (much of it with me ) before realising she was preg. Her daughter's now a thriving healthy 4-year-old.

I went out to a huge party the week after I must have got pregnant with DD2 and got really drunk and was on some tablets for pain too and she was OK. Dont worry about it.

i would be 6mths when we go to egypt...like i said its the cost of it too, and then the the clothes and all the rest, i would rather save the money and put it aside for things we will need. also i would be a huge fat thing in a bikini in front of 8 of my friends...not keen really! they are(we were!) going on a mates p**s up holiday and i would be the wet lettuce!

i am starting to smile now.....i will be 23 when i have my baby (!!!) and was crying last night saying ppl would think i was too young to be a mum till my OH reminded me of my age...still feel like my mum and dad are going to shout at me! altho my brothers girl is expecting and they are younger and only known each other 2mth b4 the pregnancy...i also dont want to dampen his parade, they are due may...

To be honest the summer is not the time to go to Egypt anyway....as its far too hot (hence the relatively low prices in the summer time). Its best to go around winter time or early spring when the temperatures are better. Sounds like it would be best just to leave them to it.
