Cool thanks. I realise these questions sound a bit dumb..i mean i pretty much knew that was my sort code but i'm used to my bank actually telling me it is and think it kind of amatuer when customers are left to assume things.

    Hi all

As per my signature, my money appeared in account on 16th April.

A random amount of interest has appeared on my account. I did not know this was a monthly interest paying account, which doesn;t bother me at all but following the 2 4 6 cheque interest clearance guidelines, I assume I'd get interest from the 17 th.

The interest that has appeared is 59 pence which is described as interest til 25th April. Surely this can't be right ? This doesn't even cover one day's worth of interest.

Anyone else in the same boat ?

I've been waiting for ~six weeks for FD to send me a ISA transfer form, very annoying.

This is after I ticked the box when I filled in my application requesting transfer forms be sent be sent with the welcome pack. Which duly arrived without any ISA transfer form or any mention of said form.

After calling them, I was told they're "very busy at the moment" but that the forms would be sent that day. That was about four or five weeks ago I believe. I've called again since and I'm still waiting.

I get the feeling that banks today know they don't have to offer good customer service because we all have to put our money in one bank or another. They accept the loss of customers, whilst safe in the knowledge that they will get another banks disgruntled clients.

I agree with that but First Direct have always had a good name for service.

Do you think they got more customers than they can handle for their ISA?

Until the outdated transfer system can be steamlined anyone who offers a good rate with 'transfers in' is asking for trouble. Look at Nationwide last year!

Kind of had the same experience. Ticked the box on the ISA application form however had to remind FD 4 times on the phone that I still hadn't received the transfer forms. Finally got the forms after about a month. Not impressed one bit.

Wonder if they do this on purpose from an internal processing point of view as it seems a common customer problem.

FD have had my transfer forms for 2 weeks now and I am still waiting for my existing funds to come across from Nationwide BS. God it's a slow process.

I had confirmation that my First Direct Cash E-Isa was "opened" in late March - even though their application form stated it would not be "opened" until they had received my ISA transfer funds from Nationwide.

Anyway, I sent my ISA transfer off on 7 April, and the funds were finally credited on 5 May (£3500)

On 10 May, I received interest of 10 pence! (for the period to 9 May).

Now, if I calculate correctly, the interest should be £1.46, being:

    £3,500 * 3.06/100 * 5/365 = £1.46.

So, where do they get 10 pence??? Ah yes, if you take the VARIABLE rate of 0.2% you get:

    £3,500 * 0.2/100 * 5/365 = £0.10.

I'm waiting for a reply to my secure message but wondered if anyone else has checked their interest to date. I also wonder if I have missed something in the T&Cs that says I have to FUND the ISA by a certain date to get the 3.06% (and not just OPENED it)

    Anyone any ideas?

Yes got the exact same issue. A quick phonecall and it was sorted. They said some accounts had been opened at 0.2 but it was sorted within minutes and all interest backdated. Don't worry.
