Admittedly, the security part of the application is a little long winded and a bit OTT. But then again, I've used Natwest Online banking and sorting that out was terrible and very drawn out.

Looking at some of the thread titles in this forum, It seems others are finding out the hard way with their ISAs. What for? A headline grabbing rate which will plummet, after a few months and your assistance in paying uncle Fred's pension.

Your right but it's fixed for a year! Just got to ensure you arrange the transfer out at the end of April next year.

I had a letter from my old ISA manager telling me FD have now been given the transfer cheque 3 days ago , :o

yet nothing showing in my FD ISA account as yet , its a few £1000 too , so whos getting the interest on that then  ???

It takes FD 3 to 4 days to reply to a e-message

I've been waiting ages as well for FD to transfer my ISA from ING. All the paperwork was done prior to April and got the letter from FD saying the application had been accepted. Then heard nothing, until Monday this week when I contacted them asking what's going on and 3 days later they reply saying their waiting for ING to issue a cheque.

I know April is the busiest month for these things, but why can't FD keep customers up-to-date with what's going on? You get NOTHING!
And I wonder of FD will backdate the interest from 6/4/09 when the account is finally opened?

Well the transfer form finally arrived yesterday, very annoying that you have to ring up to open an online account. When it says "have you subscribed to your current cash isa in the current tax year" is it asking if I have put any money in the account, or is it referring to the automatic subscription thing that isas have? Also for the name of my existing isa manager, I assume it's just "Alliance and Leicester"? And which address would I have to give them?

it's just asking you if you have paid any money into your current cash isa in the current tax year. Yes or no answer.

Alliance & Leicester is correct if that's who your current isa is with, and the address is the branch where your current isa is held (where you opened the account). If done online, the head office would, I assume suffice unless A&L's website says to the contrary. The terms of your isa should state the address.

Ok so my account has been open for a few days. I didn't opt to do an initial deposit but would now like to put a lump sum in...

...how the heck do I do it? Nowhere on my paperwork does it tell me how to deposit new money AFTER opening of account. Nowhere on the website seems to either. All I can find is how to withdraw from my ISA...LOL!

If i'm meant to set up a payment from my current account then I need my account number and sort code, two things I am very surprised they do not include in the welcome paperwork.

I see my account number is shown when I log in to internet banking and I see a 6 digit number before this separated with dashes just like a sort code would be, so I'm assuming this is the sort code? It isn't very clear and I'm not impressed with their lack of basic and important information.

Yeah I see my ISA account, but there's no option to deposit money, only withdraw. I have no other accounts with them. My current account is with Natwest which I gave them the details for. Should this have shown up too?

ah so you only got a FD ISA account !!

Then you need to go into your Natwest online account and setup a new payment transfer using the account no and details of your FD ISA account and make payments that way !!!

Yeah I thought that might be what i'd have to do, but it's crazy to me that FD haven't bothered to explain this anywhere.

So, the xx-xx-xx digits before my account no. is my sort code then?

    Thanks for the help.
