    HI,
Is anyone here who applied on-line for the ISA who wasn't existing customer?
I applied online, filled up my address and number (it didn't ask me more then that) and I am still waiting for the pack to arrive... This is nearly 2 weeks ago.

How long did it take before yours arrived?

I applied online over a week ago. I'm also still waiting.

I'm not an existing FD customer. I applied on the evening of 7th April. The form I completed online asked for a lot of information (inside leg measurement), but i'm used to this as I subscribed to the God awful Barclays Tax Haven last year.

I received the application pack on 15th April, and posted it out immediately. The CS are confirming that the application will be processed and account opened within a few days of receipt.

The only thing I have a compliant about so far, is that they don't send out a holding email, when you apply on line. This leaves you a bit unsure as to whether the online application was transmitted to them sucessfully. Other than that I have no quarms about the timescales yet. Might be worth calling 0800 242424 to check that they have received your application.

Thanks for that Dreamy. I better check it out as you say.

I also don't understand why they don't send out confirmation email or something...:-((

For those with the FD Regular Saver ISA, is the date of the standing order fixed i.e. the date that the account is opened every month or can you vary it.

If it can be varied then can you open an account on April 30, pay in the £300 then pay in another £300 on May 1 to get the maximum amount of interest over the term like you can on other regular savers?
  • I am in the process of transferring to the FD ISA from SMILE - I filled in the initial application form online and the hard copy arrived in the post a couple of days later which I will complete over the weekend.

    So far very impressed!

Typical.. Just received two application packs this morning.

I'm looking to transfer in two ISAs from other banks. From what I've read I understand I have to make a lump sum payment of £1 to open the account? or can I just open the account and tick the 'Transfers' box?

I don't want to pay the £1 and then be stuck with having to pay the rest of ISA allowance to the FD e-isa.

    Thanks

EDIT: To answer my own question, yes you can open the account without having to pay the £1 for a transfer to occur. First time I've called FD and they were very helpful and pleasant!

Well I've sent off my form now, so just have to wait for the transfer form, I can't quite understand why they just didn't send me one in the first place...

Has to be the same day each month, or the first working day after if the date falls on a weekend or bank holiday.

Thought it might be. Might as well shuffle the money over and open one next week in that case.
