DH is having a rest and it seems to be helping him.
It's only taken 27 years for him to finally listen to me and go and lie down with a hot water bottle and a hot lemon drink if he has a bad cold or virus!;)
DDs are happy on the computer upstairs and I have been marinading chicken thighs in the fridge for later with salmon steaks for me and DH instead with herby butter baby potaoes and mixed fresh veg and cheese sauce to go with it.
Looking forward to Red Dwarf tonight and a nice quiet weekend.
Might ring DD(23) later as she can't get home for the Easter weekend as she has to work but hopes to get home next weekend instead.

I find letting them "stew" helps.
You can hardly help being put forward for the job and if the roles were reversed you would be told to consider OH and not "hold them back!"
Unfair and outdated but it is how a lot of people think. Good luck."This site is addictive!"

ThanksI have always encouraged him to do whatever he wants, he just isn't pro-active. He thinks that other people in his work hold him back rather than me because they dump extra work on him. He simply has to say no to change that, but he isn't very good at that. He was fine about the other job I applied for myself (also out of the UK), but has just got ancy about this one. It's a higher level, which might be the problem.

Well done SunnyGirl! :T There'll be no stopping you now!
scuzz, It's good to see you posting again but I'm sorry to hear about the job.
elona, it's amazing how men won't listen to their betters isn't it.
ceyln, good luck with the job application. You'd kick yourself if you didn't go for it. I'm sure dh will get over it.
sistercas, This is the thread where Old Stylers have discussed the book:
How to Feed Your Whole Family a Healthy Balanced Diet, with Very Little Money...etc
I was making the sauce for the lasagne and dd said her secret ingredient was to add some bbq sauce...so I tried it but I think I added too much. It's all I can taste now. That'll teach me to listen to student dd who would eat anything as long as it's cheap.

Ooh I feel as though I've just learned my times tables all over again now I can do links
I just need a query now as I always answer telling people about certain really useful threads (are there any other kind on here?
) then saying that I can't do links
I'll be hawking round the board now watching out for questions so I can do a link :rotfl::rotfl:
I hope that everyone has a good evening. I've just rang the hospital & spoken to my Dad which was lovely. He's in no pain now and is getting lots of blood thinning injections & tablets which are partly precautionary and he had a consultant come down this afternoon talking about outpatient appointments & further tests. Dad said that he hopes the man knew the way to Bury as that's where he lived. He has a cardiac consultant here already & has had a battery of tests at Manchester Royal's dept of nuclear medicine which all came back clear  after an ectopic heartbeat was picked up last year at the G.P's. Angina would make sense as the only sure way to test for it is to have an angiogram where a tiny camera is inserted into the arteries to see any damage. I'll just be glad when they're both back home. Sorry for rambling on so much0
