Didn't know where else to put this so thought I'd ask my friends on this thread. When I'm pasting a link on a thread how do I get it from the long link to one word, such as 'here' in bold? Many thanks in anticipation & sorry if its so obvious to everyone except me :rotfl:

    Hi SunnyGirl,

The way I do it is highlight the text you want to 'hide' the link in. Go to the top of the reply box and click on the globe icon. That will bring up another box. Copy and paste the link url into that.

For a clearer explanation have a look here

    Hi everyone,

Diva, I'm sorry to hear about your family problems.
sunnygirl, I hope your Dad is feeling better today.
NoahsPM, Put your feet up and enjoy your day off today.

I haven't been posting much this week because Haribo is over. :j It's great to see her and her family. The girls have grown so much since I last saw them in October.

Yesterday we had a very Old Style day. We went for a picnic and then took the children fishing. It was glorious sunshine when we set out but, as is normal here, the heavens opened on us and we all got soaked and we didn't even get a single nibble but we had lots of fun.

Today the sun is shining again so the plans are to go to the Saturday market and then possibly a trip to the local open farm. This evening I'm making a lasagne and a chilli for dinner but Mr Haribo fancies curry so I might change the chilli to that if I can be bothered. Somewhere in between I have to organise the Easter bunny. :D

Right, I'd better get on. I hope you all have a great day.

    Morning all
    Hugs to MSD
Pen Pin, sorry you weren't to good on your holiday

Lazy start for me today but I'll take the lodger out soon, very drizzly here, but she doesn't seem to mind.
All I need to do today is buy some sliced white bread, BIL's kids won't eat homemade. Apart from that I think everything is sorted, all we need now is for them to actually turn up tomorrow, lol.
I'm reading a Kathy Reichs book, so will probably get very little done, still hubby has a book he want's to read too, so we're in for a quiet day hopefully. I have some parsley & pansies to plant out, they were reduced, lol.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Thanks Pink I've had an unsucessful attempt but I'll keep playing about with it. I've bookmarked the link you gave me so I can re-read it when I'm possibly not as stressed.

MoneySavingDiva - hugs. Some people cannot accept goodness in someone else. I am so sorry, and thinking of you.

Sunnygirl - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

For all those mentioning rhubarb, I found this recipe which I have not tried but intend to...

Persian lamb and rhubarb stew. Melt 1 ounce butter and fry 2 large sliced onions until golden. Add half of the one and one half pound cubed shoulder of lamb and when browned remove and brown remainder. Put all in flameproof casserole and add one teaspoon of ground coriander and just enough water to cover, simmer covered for one hour and season. Fry three tablespoons of fresh chopped parsley and three tablespoons of fresh chopped mint in an ounce of butter for five to ten minutes and add to the stew. Shortly before serving add one pound of rhubarb cut into two inch lengths. Adjust seasoning and serve.

This recipe should be economical for those that grow rhubarb.

Little bear managed to get hold of the key to the window lock. I have been keeping the key on a ledge out of his reach in case of fire. He demonstrated to dear heart that he could easily get the key in the lock and turn... I am considering magnets glued far out of his reach, but not exactly sure.

Bacon butties for lunch, dip and veggies for tea (again) at dear heart's request.

    Hugs to all.

    (((Diva)))

I don't think it is a coincidence either. Maybe write a nice letter to your "Mother""if it kills you saying how pleased you are that things are going well for them. That you will abide by the family's wishes that you do not buy presents for the children but that you will be thinking of them as you love them.

I would write a birthday card each year and keep it with perhaps a small amount that you would normally spend on a present put in a seperate savings account so it mounts up by the time they are old enough to appreciate it (and you).

Sound like your in laws are lovely though.

Estate agents sent us details of our new price for house sale today and got a letter from premium bonds saying I had won £50 in bonds!!!!

Need to go and get dressed and buy some more veg. DDs still not up so nice and peaceful.

Will try to convince DH to go and rest for an couple of hours later to help him get over this virus. He can only talk in a whisper and is still coughing a lot.

Might do baby potatoes with salmon and broccoli for tea with home made sweet potato burgers or chicken for those who do not like fish.

    Sybil

Could you wait till little bear cannot see what you are doing- put in a small cup hook, high up and out of sight to put the key on, maybe hidden by the side of the frame.

Hugs to everyone and see you later.

    Hello All

Long time no speak. I haven't posted on here for a LONG time, but nice to see there are still some familiar "faces" on here.

I've just been made redundant so will be really looking for OS ideas to tide me through. I'm going freelance and have some work at a hotel this weekend, before going to the BBC on Tuesday. Otherwise, I've no paid work until May:eek: My redundancy package isn't great either.

Making a banana & peanut butter bread later and a banoffee curd. Taken up jewellery making - just basic bracelets, but I've sold a couple - and also card making. I've booked a stall at a charity event in the summer, so I'm working to build up a good stock for that.

Still doing surveys and daily clicks to earn a few pennies - had a £10 cheque from archerfish earlier this week.

Diva - I don't know the whole history between you and your sister, but I hope you work things out. I went 2 years without speaking to mine once, but we're ok now. Thinking of you.

    Hope everyone's ok

  • Hi Everyone and Happy Easter

Well, am having a better day today......went to bed at 9.30 and slept till 6.30 as OH woke with DS:T. I do feel a lot better today about it all.
We went to the party last night but only stayed an hour as DS just cannot cope with it at all....I ended up in tears due to it and the lack of sleep:o
He has gone to his dads at 10 so I have just tidied through and am about to have tomatoes and bacon for lunch and have a long bath with some LUSH goodies.
Then me and OH are going to chill out and watch films and eat choc:D
He is making egg and chips for tea...yum
Have to get easter bunny sorted for DS for tomorrow morning, have the eggs all sorted upstairs.
DS saw me on here yesterday and now thinks Martin Lewis is the actual easter bunny:rotfl:
MSD sorry to hear about your family situation, I agree with the others, you should still put money away for your nephews ready for the day when they are old enough and they would know you cared. Its sad that people can be so selfish and use children to hurt others in the family.
Sunnygirl sorry to hear the news about your dad, thinking of you.
Penpin sorry you were ill on your holiday.

hope everyone has a good day

    Hello Again

Had a fantastic time at the market, well worth going to. Bought DD some clothes, got the cheapo dogs beds and some enamel plates for plate pies. Will definately be making a return visit, hopefully when there isnt drizzly rain but it wasnt overcrowded so that was good.

Lillibet - Jam factory was interesting but a little on the small side, interestingly have just been reading that Wilkins have been thinking of relocating & selling the land to developers - hope that doesnt happen.

Not sure what to do now, am feeling very tired but think I will go and do some more planting in the garden - sun is just peeping out now.
