Probably the two Subways are run by different franchises. This is the case in Kingston Upon Thames so vouchers issued by one store are not valid in the other even though they are only a few mins walk apart!0 -
What about all these non union self employed road haulage drivers, they dont get anything ( free bed in wagon)0
-
if you are a coach driver in uniform you get a meal and a drink for 1p at most services on the motorways0
-
traffic wardens and police get free transport on bus services in and around the cardiff area on showing their I.D or in uniform0
-
you can get discount from the R.A.C. if you are a member of the T.G.W.U union0

thriftmonster wrote:Members of the Royal Society of Chemistry can get 60% off their AA renewal - even if already a member - there was a discount code supplied by the RSC and you use it at renewal time. We did it this Jan and it has made the AA very competitive for us.
RSC Members can also get discounted car insurance - the brokers have to beat your best quote by 20 percent.
I also get discount insurance from work. So I took my renewal from the work scheme (already much cheaper than anywhere else) and the RSC brokers beat it by 20 per cent. :rotfl:
Next renewal I'll take the RSC quote to the work insurers and they'll have to beat it.If at first you do succeed, try not to look too surprised0 -
Apple offer a 10 % discount across the board -including ipods. for teachers and further education students. You have to agree to the following
Shopping Agreement
Can I Purchase?
By clicking “I accept” below, I confirm that I am:
• aged 18 or over
• a student with a valid student card or a teacher, lecturer, tutor or other supervisor of students at a UK education establishment
• I agree to Apple contacting me to check my status. I will provide proof of my status upon request and I agree Apple can refuse my order if I do not provide proof which is satisfactory for Apple. Apple’s decision will be final0 -

dad has been made redundant after 34 years of service (midlands co-op dairy closed down!!, this week)
any idea's for discounts for my mum??
anything to be suggested for dad??!! ( he is getting some redundancy money, but at 55, i dont want him to work again) i know i could get some more help from the government, but how??
cheers guys
I've been made redundant 3 times in the last 33 years. At 58 I got a job as a postman with Royal Mail & now drive a 7.5tonne vehicle for them. The pay is reasonable, and I love the work. My wife got a job at Asda 6 months ago at the age of 50....so, there are jobs out there! Sorry, can't think of any discounts for your mum
Best of luck to your dad0
