cleaning windows

Hi henmuffin,
I use water and microfibre cloths on my windows. Wash the window with a damp microfibre cloth then use a dry one to buff it up to shine.
There's an earlier thread with lots of advice on cleaning windows so I've added your thread to it to keep the suggestions together.

I just clean mine with water and a wee bit of washing up liquid and use a small hand-held squeegee thing to take is all away - no fluff, no streaks, no marks - just perfect sparkling windows !0

hiya,
firstly sorry if this is in the wrong place
Was about to buy a window wizard but thanks to the posts on this web site have decided it will be a waste of money.
So does anyone have a good old fashioned method for cleaning windows instead?

I fill an empty mist sprayer with some warm water which has a dash of Fairy Liquid or other washing up liquid added and spray the windows, then wipe one of those window rubber cleaning bar devices backwards and forwards across the glass, moving from top to bottom. Then use some tissue or an old cotton rag to clean up any edge bits and drips on the bottom window ledge.0

Mist with water with white vinegar added. Use crumpled newspaper to clean and more crumpled newspaper to dry and polish (warning - your hands get dirty!) The vinegar cuts through dirt and grease and windows shine! Very OS - just pennies for the vinegar.0

Morning all
I was going to ask about windows too.
I like the fairy liquid in warm water idea.........

I also like the white vinegar in water idea ..........

I use 2 microfibre cloths, 1 wet, 1 dry. I clean the windows with the wet one and then dry/polish with the dry one. Sometimes I put a small amount of washing up liquid in the water for the wet cloth but its not necessary - water alone works fine. I bought a pack of 4 microfibre cloths ages ago for £1 (think these are still widely available), so my window cleaning 'kit' cost a princely 50p. Cloths last for a long time too.
