    hey ladies,
I'm struggling to keep up with you all at the moment, i see there's some congratulations for AM and SLS! and some gorgeous piccies too!

I found this yesterday which i thought might be useful to those of you that were debating the use of mattresses from sibling.... looks like the FSID (Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths) say it's ok...

I'm not gonna give much of an update about me, I'm a bit down, my boss is being a bit of a nightmare and I can feel depression creeping up on me again which is scaring me, I just feel like they're looking for a way to boot me out of work at the moment and I don't really know what to do...hope you're all in a happier place...:o
Well keep a detailed diary of events just in case they are trying to get you out, so you can slap them with a tribunal - The nasty pasties!!

Tine, there's one just up the road from me... You could always pop for a visit and we could take a wander up there... Or if there was something you particularly wanted and it's not too heavy to post I could pick it up for you... Without exchanging personal details obviously.... <ahem>

Big delivery truck just pulled into the close... Got all excited but it went to a neighbours... Why did we order £500 worth of stuff right before a bank holiday weekend?! Feel like we've been waiting far too long...

Tumble drier arrives tomorrow, I can't wait!!! Bed needs stripping... Will do it today, wash it tonight and it can all be lovely tumble dried... Bliss! Might get all my concrete towels out and see if I can get some fluff back into them too...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

ooh mooki you have just reminded me did you see the girl (have no idea of her name or anything as she wasn't focussed on but she was black and having a c-section) when they showed her her baby straight away she covered her face and said "eeewww!"

Last night when we watched the hosp hubby asked about the cord (well he said what do you want to do, are you gonna have them heave of the placenta again and do u want to cut the cord) because I had mentioned that I would like to cut it a while back, but I've changed my mind now :) I said he has first dibs on cord cutting and if not I'd see if my mum wants to do it and if not I'll tell MW to do it.
He's such a sweetheart he said well I did Chris's so let ur mum have a go - bless! Although I did remind him that its his baby, he doesn't have to share things out with my mum :p

am, dont worry just be glad of a good nights sleep! its madness to wake a newborn they get so crabby. midwives told me to wake seth every 2 hours, i did it for half a day and then nodded and pretended to agree after that, he put on plenty and he was happy so imo it didnt matter. i'd do anything to sleep longer than 3 hours at the moment lol!

those ladies worrying about how many blankets I found this when look around the site Hypno linked..
    15°C (60°F) - A sheet and four blankets
    18°C (65°F) - A sheet and three blankets
    21°C (70°F) - A sheet and two blankets
    24°C (75°F) - A sheet and one blanket
    27°C (80°F) - A sheet only
A good blanket to use is a baby cellular blanket that has tiny holes on it so that air can circulate around your baby. Most baby shops sell cellular blankets.

oh dear, had a bit of a to-do with hubby last night.
he really wants to find out sex of the baby when we go for next scan. i really dont want to. but then he said that it feels to him like i am making all the decisions and that its 'my baby' and not 'our baby'. felt awful, so think i may have to compromise on this one. so if we found out the sex and not tell a soul (not even on here) how easy a secret would it be to keep for 20 weeks??
has anyone previously managed to do just that??
    thanks

I think that's too big an ask. knowing the sex is a massive thing, and if he knows but you don;t how will he keep it from you? Surely he will refer to he or she all the time?

I think it's time to refuse him - let him make some decisions on other things but ultimately if one of you finds out it is bound to get slipped out at some point.

And he is emotionally blackmailing you which isn;t very nice. My OH realises that right now it is more my baby than his cos I am carrying it all the time and so I feel more involved - he is fine with that, just looking forward to having it actually around and out of my tummy.

I have said if he wants to be more involved then there are plenty of back rubs and head massages he can get involved with to relieve my pain! :rotfl::D

Sami, I wanted to cut the cord with Aimee, but when it came to it.. I just couldn't be bothered lol... My sister cut it for me, she was over the moon... Hubby wants to try this time, and my Aunt will hopefully be there to have a go if he bottles it... Depends on where she is with her chemo though, she's on some really grotty stuff at the minute, it's been a week since her treatment and she's still not feeling well, he white cells will die off over the weekend so she'll be prone to infection and the next cycle starts in 2 weeks :( I feel a bit bad I asked her if she wanted to come to the birth to be honest... I'd love for her to be there and I know she'd be over the moon to be there... But I'll feel so bad if I go into labour at the wrong time in her treatment and she can't make it...

MW has just come, she was only here for about 5 mins, is that normal?
She seemed like a right miserable moo, told us we should of woke Ryan up to feed him and left

Just got the buggy out and it has no instructions  took us about half hour to unfold the thing and more to put the pram liner in, doubt that will get used much though apart from the school runs as the buggy dont collaps when in pram mode!
