We went to the information evening at the clinic as well - Germans are weird. They're so pro-nudity and pro-body, but they put a curtain between the head end and the business end and the father's not allowed past the curtain. Which also implies a bit of an over reliance on the "on your back on the bed" method. They also give the child to the father first, and I object to that too.

Appointment with my official labour doctor today. What should I ask him?
Not sure what to ask him but I would be telling him I will NOT be having a screen up and my baby will be delivered on to MY chest and I shall be in which ever position I feel like at the time!

I would have assumed that Germans would be all for being naked in a birthing pool:confused: shows how much I know :p

Sparkle - Lexi is beautiful congratulations, looking forward to birth story :)

Greent - I'm so sorry ur OH has been a complete winky head!!
I don't know how you even stayed in the house with him I'm not one for managing my anger very well and if my OH had done that I wouldn't be surprised to find myself in a police cell wearing a paper suit after having chopped his bits off with my chef knives!:o:shocked:
Feel free to think out loud and off load here whenever

  • But I started at a hell of a lot more than you are now! My boobs have gone from a F/G cup to a J!! Can't wait until I can lose some weight, get smaller boobs and actually buy a bra in a shop!

Sounds to me that if you've put a lot on your boobs and obviously the extra weight of the baby, then you must have lost weight elsewhere!!;)......either that or I'm just really good at hiding the other 2 stone i've put on! Think its all in my bum and thankfully i cant see that!!:rotfl:
  • so you have to add up to 66 weeks? In that case I would be eligible?
  • re boos I have gone from 34DD to 34 F!!!

Sparkle, Lexi is beautiful, well done!!
  • Suckers: when is your baby due?
  • Hopefully once bump turns up I won't be too far off pre-preg weight and then I'll work on it from there. Although I've developed the wierdest craving - I really really feel the need to eat cement, plaster or brick! I never had any cravings with DS1 but this time I've got a thing about munching ice cubes and now this one as well!

if you download the MA application form it will give you the dates in which you must have worked for 26 week and earnt a certain amount for 13 of them, its a big form and be careful when you print it as it changes from lanscape to portait half way through  you need to send the form, wage slips coving the 13 weeks you earnt the most and ur MATB1 form off and they will then let you know how much you are entitled to

You'll be eligible for Maternity Allowance if you worked at least 26 of the 66 weeks weeks leading up to the due date. As far as I know those weeks don't have to be consecutive either. So if you are due early Sept (same as me!!) then the 26 weeks work has to be since about the beginning of June 2008.

If you haven't worked 26 weeks in total in that time, then you might be eligible for income support - not sure if that is dependent on your hubbys income though?
First baby (a boy) due 03.09.09 - eeeeeeeeekkkkk!
