Pardon my ignorance, but what's the difference between a 'maternity bra' and a normal one?

They're more supportive, because as your breasts get bigger they need more support to ensure the ligaments inside don;t stretch or tear, and to help avoid them being all saggy afterwards.

They tend to offer more coverage as a result so finding nice ones can be an expensive challenge, but it's worth it, as most normal bras don;t offer any support.

They also have more hooks and eyes, as stated, to enable you to adjust it as you grow and get more use out of them.

I haven;t seen any strapless ones thought, and a lot of maternity dresses seem to require one.

  • Well ladies its official - my fingers are now sausages! I have had to take off my wedding ring because my hands have swollen so much it was cutting into my finger :(. I have my hydrotherapy session later so I am hoping some gentle excersize will help my swollen feet as well.

Hypno - Enjoy your time off and try to relax.

Tia - thanks for the link re. maternity bras, I am off to have a look.
