Is it not pointing up for a boy, down for a girl?

I don't know Helen, I haven't seen many nubs, but if you do a bit of googling, there are hundreds of pages devoted to it!
  • Gorgeous pics hun, really clear. Not sure I can see a winky though, but then I'm no expert at these things! x x

Re breech babies (sugarspunsister?) - all my children were breech until the last week or so, then turned & came out the right way! The last time, I went for MW appt, she was on hol & saw a locum MW, she said 'right, I think baby is breech, need a scan & def C-section', about 34 weeks. Scan showed baby head down (I knew he was anyway!), radiographer flummoxed, saw own MW few days after & we both shook our heads! :rotfl:I can appreciate why they are cautious, but my MW said that most babies turn the right way round, even if it's only during the last 48 hours or so. My sis lives in the US, where all breech babies are automatically C-sections, then if you've had CS, all subsequent PGs are CS as well - you have to very persistent/bolshy to get normal deliveries, sign medico-legal forms etc., never mind home births etc. Sis had to have 3 CS (got 3 kids) & now has problems with scar tissue upon scar tissue. Think we're much better off here, even though we moan about being pressured about intervention.
Slightly different tack, changes in our maternity services mean that if you're having your 6th (or more) baby, or any complications, then you have to go to maternity unit in the next town, home birth not an option either, unless you 'accidentally' leave it too late! :D Got a smashing birth centre in our hospital, though, so keeping fingers crossed that no probs with this one - don't want him/her born in 'foreign parts'! :rotfl:

Oh, labour lengths - #1 = 4 hours; #2 = 45 mins (born in casualty!); #3 = 3.5 hours; #4 = 2.5 hours - all from first signs to baby's arrival, I kid you not! Just to make you all green, no morning sickness with any, no stitches, injections, epidurals, just gas & air!! :) God will punish me this time, just to even things up, I'm sure.

Policy in most places, was warned about having no.5 at home.

Can't make you go anywhere though, providing that all is ok with bubs I will stick to my 2 MW's to myself at home thank-you. Far to selfish to share. :rotfl:
Too many children, too little time!!!
