    Hiya newbies!

AM, spoke to her yesterday, she was off to day care.
  • Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :)

Sami, I've been trying all the spinningbabies positions, bouncing on my birthing ball, moxabustion sticks, waving a little LED torch light around near my pubic bone (you can imagine the bemused look I got when DH walked in whilst I was trying that one!) I've even simply asked baby very very nicely if she wouldn't mind doing some somersaults for Mummy. But Madam is obviously far too comfy where she is!

The consultant did say that he reckons the ECV has about a 35-40% chance for me (higher BMI/1st time mum both lowers it from the standard 50% chance) - but he also said that he thought it was 'worth a go'. I'm crapping myself tbh.

On the plus side, he also said that in his 20yrs experience of performing them, he'd never had a Mum need an EMCS following the procedure and that they'd monitor the baby and cord very carefully before, during and after. As for how much it's gonna hurt me, well I'm trying to not think of that - but I'll come back and be honest!

    Afternoon girls
Welcome & congrats to damzel & gemma! :D
Damzel - with my first, when I found out I was pg, I was about 12 weeks, & had been having 'periods' all that time, it was something else that made us suspect I was pg! I'm nearly 14 weeks, too, what's your due date?
Good job I got so much done over Easter, 'cos I've done sweet FA today - just 2 loads of washing.
Toddler LOVED sleeping in his new bed last night & didn't get out at all, expect that'll change when the novelty wears off! :rotfl:
Even though I'm still really tired, this week I just don't 'feel' pregnant; don't remember that from the other times. Don't think there's anything wrong, just keep expecting things to be further along, bigger bump, etc - better stop wishing the time away!
Better go make tea - congrats/labour vibes/hugs n kisses, whichever you need!

Have just caught up on this thread and Kittys thread, or should i say the thread that seems to have turned into the Grace1990 show. Really trying to stop myself from jumping in and ripping her head off. But i think Glamzon is doing a fantastic job, and every reply i keep thinking of she seems to have come up with, yay Glam!

Why thank you! I do try my best to be nice but get my point across - it's quite good this debating lark!
Any news from Helen on the scan today? Desperate to hear how it went :j!

Have been feeling icky today but thrilled to say I am 11 weeks today. Two more sleeps until scan on Friday- yippee! Getting a bit anxious though  - no real reason to just desperate to know all is well x x

Oh, I always forget when people have scans! Come on Helen - let us know how you got on!
2 more sleeps is nothing - it will be here before you know it (I'll try and remember!)

Hello Gem and Charlotte - welcome
Charlotte - I can't believe you have managed to lurk for sooooo long.

NOTES - I should have got mine after 12 week scan but cos they thought I was under the Consultant I didn't get them until after I saw Consultant.
Notes said - WANTS TO BE MIDWIFE LED!!!! You can see why both myself and the Consultant wondered why I was there!!

  • Welcome gemmagem,

Congrats AM, your little boy is beautiful - and what a head of hair on him - stunning!

Someone asked earlier about keeping the sex secret. We found out at around 28 weeks - didn't tell anyone we intended to find out and haven't told a soul. We've slipped up a few times, but no-one seems to have noticed, we just make up for it by making sure we slip up the other way too and drop 'he' into the conversation a few times!
