is it good to know the baby's sex in advance, or not to know???
I'm assuming they'll give us a choice?
Not everywhere does, some places won;t tell.
It's a very personal thing but I preferred not to know as we wanted a surprise.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Some PCT's have a policy not to let you know. Does it say in your notes?
Its a really personal choice whether to find out. DH and I NEEDED to know!
. I couldn't imagine not knowing but lots of people prefer the surprise on birth day. I'm far too impatient
. Both times we have kept it secret from my side of the family though as they wanted the surprise but my inlaws and friends knew so it was quite tricky.
I always assumed I would have girls
so it gave me time to get used to my blue bump and stop hoarding all of Poppy's pink clothes!

What notes?
Is that something we will be given by the mid-wife? We haven't seen the mid-wife yet, first appointment next week.
I like the idea of a surprise, but from a practical viewpoint, it means we would have to only choose one name (which is hard enough) rather than two different names.0 -
Hello Sugar!:hello: Can't believe you've lurked for so long - pull up a seat and get comfy

poptarts! _pale_
Off the Trafford Centre tonight, so hubby can buy by birthday pressie. I want a new handbag. I think I might have to try and get another bra fitting - oops and I need more tops. To be far - I am still wearing most of my looser, pre-preg size 8 tops, but they are beginning to ride up and my choice is becoming very limited. I think I'm gonna look for non-maternity, but longer tops.0 -
hello sugarspunsister/Charlotte
is an ECV when they manually try to turn bubba? _pale_
My friend had a successful one but seriously but me off with her story!!
just in case it doesn't work have a look at www.spinningbabies.com
Right my kitchen is finished :T Although we ran out of paper :undecided so will need to pain one wall a complementary colour :rotfl: its all the ceiling's fault  when the new one was ut up we gained and extra 6 inches of wall height in places (old wonky house you see) and we bought the paper over 2yrs ago
so no chance of getting anymore

With our first I was sure it was a boy (and that he had ginger hair like his dad), so we never asked. I was admitted at 33 weeks with pre-eclampsia and decided to ask at his growth scan about a week before he was born. We kept it to ourselves. And yes, he was a boy with ginger hair
Second I was so sick and asked to try and get some sort of bond with the little parasite that was making me ill.
This time we asked to make some plans and get ready (had an idea it was a girl and it is so far (she may still decide to be a boy however))
So, it's up to you and your partner to decide if you want to know. There is still the chance that on the day he/she may be shy and hide or that they get it wrong.
Course, you could always get a private scan just to be sure

ooh not at the traff but I recommend Sainsbury's TU t-shirts
I got a bright pink one on sat its quite long (if I was a hussy I could wear it as a dress:p)and in my usual sz12 with room for my already big bump to expand further, it was 4 or 5 £ its some new fabric called modal
very nice n soft comes in bright pink, black, white and I think there was a blue n white patterned one too
right off to morribobs and then to collect kissifer from his Grandma

Yes, the midwife should give your partner hand held notes when she sees her next week if thats the booking in appointment? In my area we see a MW at the Dr's surgery for an initial chat and are then referred on to the hospital where the 12w scan and booking in appointment (bloods, etc) are combined. But we have had all sorts of variations on this thread!
But you have until the 20w scan (if your PCT allows) to decide on whether to find out the sex so lots of time for discussions
.
