I've just played with snowball and I need to pay extra £56 a month to be debt free by my 33rd birthday in November (early) 2011. That's going to be bit of a tricky task, but I'll see what I can do.

    Hi Flying_Fresian and all posters!!

I have decided to amend my DFW date as I didn't make it in time for my 30th, instead I think debt free by New Year has a good ring to it! :j

The following is all thinking aloud and making myself re-focused, sorry if it makes dull reading

So current debts are CC £714.64 and loan £1482.55 obviously I will have interest to pay on the outstanding amounts on those etc but for calculation purposes I am going to make it easier £2197.19 total with 18 weeks until New Years Eve that makes it an extra £122.07 per week extra that I need to find. If I get the job I am going for on Friday then I can do it, if not then I will need to start being very creative!!

Priority 1) - get F/T job (made redundant 6 weeks ago, have got a p/t job but can't start until CRB checks back)
    2) Don't increase debt
    3) Start making xmas pressies etc to save all spare money to pay off debts. (Unless I have to buy a car...)

I am pleased with progress I was making up until redundancy, it started off at £30,000 near enough so to be so close to the finish is great! Got to just keep going, have had a break from ebay so time to get back into that and the next non-rainy day will have to be a car boot one!

Phew, good to feel focused again after falling off wagon a bit :D
    Starting debts £29,500
    Now £225.54 loan, £708.30 CC Total £933.84
Interest free loan from In laws £1,000
£6 in Boots points, £2.90 Co-op divi, £0 Paypal, £250 No Access savings
New DFW date - asap!! :j
  • Hi all

Have enjoyed reading about all your successes here. It's my 30th birthday on April 4th next year so 221 days to be debt free. I have been ploughing away for the last couple of months so have managed to get my debt down to £2585. Doesn't sound like a lot but I have another tax bill due before my birthday of £1400 so I have about £4000 to find which I think, if I really put my mind to it, I can do.

Good luck to everyone here Is so nice to set a target...

Ok, let me tell you all what happened!! I seem to have gone from going down in debt to going up in debt....all due to a couple of holidays!! My own fault really, but I really needed them, so my new months resolution is to sort myself out. Sadly I now owe £3380 which is rubbish to be quite honest!

So I have a plan of action,
    1) I have started ebaying, not much but every penny counts.
    2) I am also reviewing resources for the new up and coming changes in GCSE syllabus (apparently I will receive about £10-15 an hour - only doing a few hours work, but should hopefully bring something in)
    3) I get a pay rise next month!! :) I reckon it'll work out about £100ish after tax...that will ALL go on debt because I know I can live on what I already earn
    4) I am also due to receive a little bit extra because we had student interns in before the summer and I looked after one of them.

The first aim is to get to £3000 debt by end of October (at least!)
And now the fun stuff....my boyfriend gave me his wii and I have bought EA active personal trainer for it (for the cheapest price I could find online!), so I am going to up my fitness again without gym fees!!

Hope others have done better than me on their knocking down of debt!
    Debt busting 2022 Total £15842.68 £0 (100% paid since 1/1/22)

    Hi everyone!

Good to see the progress everyone is making.

As predicted this month is the most depressing update. Due to the expenses sorting out the house to sell I'm almost back where I started. Without the support of people on here it would be far worse as I feel so low- I felt like giving up and splurging but some lovely DFWs kept me on track.

Always look on the bright side Jellie- at least you haven't added to your debt!

Ticker update for me. Today was payday so have made an overpayment of £100 to Halifax CC. That means that next payday I will be able to get rid of it- huzzah! :j

Looking good for reaching 28% this month as still have 'normal' CC payments to make.
