:T I have not posted on here for ages! Life has been a bit crazy..however I am getting back to some normality and whilst I have been reguarly paying off my debts, I had not been keeping track of them in the way I was last year.
Having followed the link from the money tips email to this post, I have been newly inspired, so I just wanted to say thanks for a great inspirational challenge!
Over the past couple of years, I have managed to get my debt down to £3649! It started at about £11,000 so I don't have that far to go now.
I am aimimng to have paid this all off by February 14th 2010..1 year anniversary of moving from London to Cornwall!0 -
Welcome punkygoth!
Well done on paying off the huge amount you have cleared so far!
Pay day is not until Monday now- it's been a loooonnng month! I'm quite happy that the amount I have left to pay is a nice £5300. I like round numbers!
And as of Monday I will have finished paying OH back the money I owe him, which will be nice and have enough to pay a reasonably large chunk off of my halifax card. So should be able to put a nicely updated ticker on next week!
Happy debt bashing everyone!

Yay for the DFB thread! Been keeping a low profile recently as my ticker is also moving backwards
but the change of job/pay dates is all settled now so I am looking forward to making some real progress (its all about optimism!) In the interests of shaming/motivating myself, my snowball date is July 2011, I'm aiming for November 2010 :eek:Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0

I checked the snowball calculator last night and my DFD varied from August next year (I wish) to the beginning of 2013 :eek: depending on how much I throw at it.
Hopefully once Christmas is out of the way and the new year start I can start putting a little more towards my debts than I have been.
So far this year I have cleared off £1539 but I have also saved £800 to pay back some money we took from savings having to get a new boiler (had to be done- hot water is not a luxury!
), saved £250 towards christmas, and have saved (or will be saving money) towards weekends away to Edinburgh and Bruges. (approx £650 total on hols)
So that's an extra £1700 which I could have paid off debts. Gotta have a life though!
Now i feel a bit depressed the amount I could have cleared of is more than what I have actually cleared off!
Still- extra debt bashing next year!

Heres my end of July update 2009...everyone is doing great so WELL DONE on those debt free journeys!!

Next task is to get below the psychological £20K !! Couldn't quite manage it this month as I am having a holiday this year, so putting some savings away. Not very MSE I know but life cannot always be about debts and we have to enjoy it too.
Looks like (everything crossed) I might be changing jobs so that will give my percentages a booster!!Debt Free 25th August 2010 with PAD !!TARGETS :
