Morning all
Happy Easter weekend to you all:icotbaske
didn't get chance to post here yesterday. Today I'm off to work on an 11 hour shift followed by a sleep in so wont be home till 7.30am tomorrow which is when my Easter starts - have got 3 days off then:j DH is working as usual doing his milkround with only Sunday off.
Nothing much will get done here today other than a quick clean around before I go. Dinner for them will be a pizza from the freezer(their choice)
Have a great day all, (((hugs))) to those in need xDo what you love :happyhear0 -

Morning all
Thought I would get a quick few minutes on here before my sister gets up. Had a lovely day yest with her but unfortunately still did not find her anything for the wedding so probably go back out shopping again this morning. Yest evening had salmon, roast veg, savoury rice and new potatoes. When she arrived yest we had hm soup, with hm bread followed by lemon drizzle ake - she was very impressed with my new domesticated lifestyle!!!
Hob nobs in oven as we speak and bm on - washing on line (don't know if I will get it dry as not a good forecast, but it did yest so worth a try!)
She is going home at lunch time so will just do cheese on toast and hm soup for lunch and I think we will have jacket pots with tuna or something similar for tea as it is Good Friday.
Hope you all have a good day!

Hope everyone enjoys Good Friday, or their Friday (if that makes sense??).
Sunny here and off to the marsh trail with houndies in a moment.
Plans for today include tackling the bedroom paint job again - I haven't done round the window as I had a day off yesterday. It will be nice to get the curtains back up.
Other jobs - go through freezer and make a meal plan, also wipe out the fridge. I'm just about out of Stardrops and haven't seen any locally but I read on here that MrT has started selling them so I'll have a look.
I'm also going to clean my micro with the slices of lemon trick. I *think* you put them in a bowl of hot water - shows how long it is since I cleaned my microwave.
If I have the inclination, I'll wipe down paintwork in the hallway with something on my new micro-fibre cloth. Read such good things about these so I suppose I'd better take it out of the package.
Tea will be something with loads of veg (yes, still wading through the veggie box), maybe a curry.
I'm totally engrossed in Sepulchre (Kate Mosse) - I know that one of you lovely people suggested I start with Labyrinth(e?) but the library didn't have it yesterday. Anyway, fab book and soooo thick.
(((hugs))) to folks in need of one. Stef - enjoy your train trip!

¡Hola! Buenas Dias
Well have decided that we must set off back next weekend, wrench that it is I am starting to miss one or two things, and the shops.
Very quiet over here on the UKers front, though the usual Madrid exidous has inflated the Spanish population, which is good. Very quiet in our usual restaurant/bar last night, but still managed a dance, sat in there last night listening in to a French conversation, seems they were Swiss.
WS - sent you a PM re washer/dryers.
Sorry to hear you have been under the weather Pen-Pen how is the crocheting doing?
Today I will be making two throws into more fitted covers for some new leather reclining/swivel chairs we got recently, before DS&GF come out in July and sit on the with suncream on:rolleyes:. I already have throws for the bed settees. We only use them in suncream season.
No shops are open here today to the best of my knowledge, even some closed earlier last night. Loads of solemn processions on all week, but especially today. They last for hours, the floats are beautiful but very heavy and have to be carried by teams of similar sized men. There is even an ex-pat float. They have to walk in time and practice beforehand.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_BBWZ6v47E&feature=related is a video of one in Barcelona. Unfortunately I don't have the connections speed to put photos up of one of our local ones.
Take care

Morning peeps
A glorious Good Friday here in Essex - not sure how long it will last tho. Had my new WM delivered yest. I was getting very excited in the shop to see that it had a time delay function so I would be able to set it before I went to bed to make the most of the cheap nightime tariff. Then I realised that it would be on standby in the meantime, using up expensive tariff:rolleyes:
DD is going shopping (again:eek:) with her friends today. I have given her her pocket money for this month and will try to stick to my guns and not give her anymore today. I know it's hard for kids today to learn that they can't have everything they want - if many of us had learnt this hard lesson 20 or 30 years ago, we wouldn't all be in this debt now:rotfl:
We 'celebrate' Easter fairly traditionally in this household. Good Friday (what is 'good' about the Lord dying) is always a quiet day so I am taking the two spaniels to Cudmore Grove in East Mersea. We will have a long walk along the beach and generally do some personal stock-taking. I always do my thinking when out with the dogs. There is something about nature that takes you right back to basics.
Dinner will be HM fish goujons, salad and some new potatoes.
Perhaps a spot of gardening if the weather holds.
Enjoy the first day of the Easter break. I won't wish you a happy Easter until Easter Sunday!

Morning everyone, enjoy your long weekend (if you're lucky enough to have it all off work)
Today we are going to visit my Dad and eat hot cross bunsI have a sainsbury's delivery coming tonight, and at some point today I will fit in cleaning the bathroom (vinegar and stardrops, and bleach for the loo).
Not feeling too brilliant today (sore throat, mild fluey aches and a bit of a cough) - never mind I'll have a lemsip in a minute and all will be well again
Dinner tonight will probably be something quick and easy - HM soup and cheese toasties.
Easter eggs are all bought (I don't like how expensive they are for their weight IYKWIM - but considering everyone else in our family are either giving DD money or a little pressie I've had to over compensate and buy her 4  Well it would seem a little sad waking up to 1 egg- and she is good at sharing
)
Anyway I've rambled - need to get cracking - have a lovely Good Friday all xSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Morning all!
For me it's a normal working day today. I'm starting this afternoon though. I'm hoping to find a secret stash of choccy somewhere on the ward!
Time for a few hot cross buns this morning. Need to locate my knitting too!
Have a good weekend everyone, happy Easter.
