OS Daily Good Friday 2009

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 10 April 2009. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!
Morning and Happy Easter.
(In my opinion) That bunny picture of Martin at the top of the page looks totally stupid!!!!
Hope everyone is set for a nice Easter. For me it's a mixture of work and church and vistors from Grimsby. No work today, but I made up for it in the last 2 days with some overtime.
Not sure what's happening today, Church possibly and then ferrying kids to work. My chicks should begin to hatch this weekend as well.
Might do fish for tea, sort of traditional and I have quite a bit left from my recent fishing trip.
What ever you do, have a nice weekend

Morning N9eav & everyone else,
Been a lovely Good Friday in the Aussie household. Had a family lunch today which went down well. Even cracked open the champagne. Lots of leftovers so I'm pleased. Had a few showers but the weather has been pretty good. DS2 has got his Xbox hooked up so been having some fun with that.
Not a great deal of OS going on but lot's of family time. Off to go for a walk shortly to fit more tea in.Hope you all have a lovely day whatever your plans are. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Whatever your'e all up to have a good day and I hope the weather stays nice for you all.

Good Morning
Nice n dry in Essex today. Bit of everything planned - some housework, washing the normal really.
OH needs to take DS out for a new digi box later. Think I will see if the butchers are open & get roast for Sunday, have my mum & step dad coming over.
Salmon, new pots and peas for dinner tonight with garlic butter.
Not much else to say have a lovely Good Friday.

Luckily, Martin is too much of a Gentleman to say such a nasty thing about you
DH is making me a cup of tea in bed, and we're planning our day. We hope to get into the garden, and have a film to watch later. DS has discovered the joys of the bus network, and is off with his friends again. Anyone know if shops are open today, as usual
Old Style jobs for today- pot on seedlings
- dig out old laurel bush to make way for new seat :j
- start cooking for friends coming for supper tomorrow
- finish Simnel cake :T and maybe eat a slice

Morning all,
Been lurking around for ages, woke at 4.20 so deceided to get up and do some sewing.
I'm having DGD2 for the day so don't know how much osing I'll get done, I really need to make a list of what's in the smaller freezer, been trying to run it down and put on freecycle. Making hot cross buns today and an easter cake.
Dinner will be steak, new pots and salad.
Might get round to cleaning the inside windows, vinegar here I come.
Happy Easter to all.

Morning all and a Happy Easter
Bit of a DIY weekend for us. Wanted a new sink in the kitchen as am fed up with my one and a half bowl, always was too small so have got one with just one large bowl. Have bought new worktops as well as sink is obviously not the same shape or size to the old one. Been weather watching and I think we might be lucky today. The rain isn't supposed to be falling here until late afternoon so DH might be lucky and have time to cut the shape of the sink out without having to resort to covering the conservatory in dust if he had to do it indoors
Apart from that nothing going on this weekend. Must remember to get leg of lamb out of freezer for Sunday, bought it a couple of weeks ago in Mr S when they were half price.
Hope everyone has a lovely Easter weekend.0 -

In your opinionI like people who have a sense of humour and are able to laugh at themselves
Your comment continues to be unpleasant to the person who gives you and I this forum FOC.

Up early to pack and clean - most of it done now so will wake up the masses in a bit. dd(23) brought the hugest suitcase with her so now there is no room in the car and i have kindly volunteered to get the train home ... on my own ... with no family - utter utter blissikins. the dd has a return ticket as she came a day later than the rest of us so i don't even have to pay.
Can't wait to get home - i have veg plant babies in an inch of bath water and want to see if any of them have sprouted yet. Then it will be more packing before leaving for okehampton at stupid o'clock in the morning
have a good day allI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080
