  • Hi there

I just got a Tesco Credit Card. I am using it all week for all my purchases that I can. I am then clearing it on a Friday.

When will I see my points appearing ?

Can we still spend clubard tokens in MFI now they are in receivership?? Has anyone purchased anything recently?

I didn't think MFI were in receivership I thought theny had been sold copied below from Guardian Unlimited 23rd September 2006

"The loss-making MFI retail chain was yesterday sold for a nominal sum of £1 to a private equity firm which is promising to return the 200-strong operation to its former glory. As a result of the long-awaited transaction, the stock market-listed company MFI is changing its name to Galiform and planning to embark upon a rapid expansion of its builders merchants, Howden"

Hope you can still use Tesco deals that's what I'm saving my CC points for - anyone else have any further info?

I have requested an application form for the Tesco clubcard plus, as Martin spoke of it in his weekly email, but I have a question.

I also have a Tesco credit card, and was thinking of closing it, but got thinking of the clubcard points you get with it. I vaugely remember when I got it that you got 3 points for every £2 spent at tesco and 1 point for every £3 spent elsewhere else.

I looked on the tesco personal finance website, and they now have two cc's and the points awarded are all different.

SO ..... my question is: Which is better to use, the clubcard plus with double points or the tesco credit card. I am assuming the double points clubcard plus account, but then I am not sure what points you get with my credit card now, has it changed ?

    Thanks for your help

Got a very nice Tag Huer watch from Goldsmiths with the last batch of Tesco vouchers.
Wondering how they can make any money on this, how can they afford to give £10 for every £2.50 in vouchers on watches jewellry are they hugely overpriced normally? Are Goldsmiths and MFI they the only ones that offer a physical product rather than days out holidays, memberships etc for tesco vouchers?

The better card to use in Tesco (instore or online) is the clubcard plus as you get double points on your spend (excluding points offers and coupons). You get 1.5 times if you pay with your Tesco credit card (3 points for every £2 spent @ Tesco 1 point for every £2 spent elsewhere)... the NEW Tesco credit card isnt so good ... you get 1.25 times (5 points for every £4 spent @ Tesco.. 1 point for every £4 spent elsewhere).

I've got both... I use my clubcard plus for Tesco purchases and my Tesco credit card everywhere else. I get points with my Tesco credit card even if I shop at Asda!

You can't use a clubcard plus card anywhere else...only Tesco.

Clubcard plus is much better for Tesco purchases... you get 8 points for every £5 spent instead of 5 points for every £4 spent (on the new credit card)

    Hi

I was wondering if anybody could help in explaining to me how clubcard plus works in terms of paying by an alternative method (e.g. visa card) and then using the cc plus card in the same way as your normal cc (e.g. just swiped at checkout).

I assumed that you have to preload the card with money and spend on it to recieve the double points. Finding any information on the clubcard plus account seems impossible, tescos seem to be doing a great job of keeping the clubcard plus account hidden. I even have regular trouble with the staff not knowing how the card is used.

The reason I am asking is I have never used my cc plus when I order online as I assumed it had to be preloaded with cash to get the double points. So I assumed I would only receive 1 point the same as my normal cc. Am I correct in assuming this or am looking at this wrong. I Apologise if this has been answered before but I have been unable to find out this information.

    Regards
