Tesco Clubcard/Vouchers/Points/Deals - Post All Questions Here

Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times before. I'm trying to save my points to have enough for a holiday. My question is am I going to be stuck with the brochure price or could I possibly use the points against some discounted deal somewhere. I'm specifically thinking of a Virgin holiday. I'd really appreciate the advice.

Brochure price I think. So its only really worth your while if you have a lot of clubcard vouchers (if its only a couple of hundred pounds then it may be better looking for a discounted deal).

Hi,I bought Mum a magazine subscription to Good Food last Christmas. If I subscribe again, can I put on the form that it is a renewal of an existing subscription? Then she can have it for this Christmas too!

Definitely brochure price you pay.

I guess xl.com don't go to the location you're looking at as they're great to use your vouchers on...you pay the same price as a non CC voucher user.

Ask where your car and health insurance points are as you were told to expect them in your august mailing and they clearly aren't on the statement.

Also, how many of those points you've calculated were before 29th July (which is the clubcard august deadline)? i went back to check mine on an old receipt and found that the extra points I was expecting were spent after this date. You have a receipt showing your total before 29th july as higher than those you've received, have that in your hand when you're on the phone and see what they say.

If you do want to use xl.com, you must hurry. Can only book with them until October using Tesco vouchers. Think you can book for holidays for next year but can't book after october. So once you have your August vouchers get booking, or else its back to brochure price only with the other operators that except vouchers.

Very pleased today to find that Stafford Tesco has a recycling machine. Its a huge thing with slots for differnt items, you swipe your clubcard or fob and then for every 4 cans, glass bottles or plastic bottles you get one green clubcard point. I dont know how long it has been there, not been to Stafford for a few weeks.
So now we have to clean and store everything carefully and every week or two drive two junctions down the motorway to take the recycling :rotfl:
Please can anyone tell me wether it makes a difference wether you flatten your cans or not? Also do you take the lids off jars and the corks out of bottles? How does the machine know you have put in a whole can or jar, not just the lid, is it by the weight?
Also I seem to remember something mentioned many pages back about foil - would one of the foil trays under a Mr Kipling fruit pie count as a tin?
Are there any glitches I need to know about?
While I was there I watched one chap and his little boy emptying their recycling. They had brought a small plastic chair so the little boy could stand on it and drop the things into the slot, very sweet. They where up to nearly 200 items when I left, a fortnights worth.
Everywhere I go now I am seeing cans and bottles, just waiting to be collected. I think I need to be like the dog walkers and take a plastic bag and a plastic glove with me everywhere!
