Tesco Clubcard/Vouchers/Points/Deals - Post All Questions Here

Hi,
A friend of mine recently lent me 1750 Air miles. He gets 80 miles for every £2.50, I only get 60, so I want to pay the vouchers into his account so he can benifit from the extra 33%.
Is it possible to do this? If I use the online ClubCard Deals page to pay them direct to his AirMiles account, I'll only get 60, so how can I transfer them to get 80 for £2.50
Scratch that! I found the order form you post off. I'll try that with his Clubcard number.0 -
esthomizzy wrote:Not sure if this is the right place to ask but did the points on Tesco credit cards spent outside of tesco recently change from a point per £4 spend to a point per £2 spend? I could have sworn it was per £4 but I just saw a post on another forum quoting £2 and then looked on tesco's own site and it's £2. I'm beginning to think maybe it's always been that way and I just had it wrong in my head but if it did change I'd be interested to know when.
The old credit card (available until approx mid 2006) was 1 point per £2 spent outside of Tesco.
the new card is 1 point per £4 spent . From tesco page - "1 point for every £4 you spend everywhere else!"0 -

firstly apologies if this question has been asked before. Also I have posted this in travel and tips - just in case!
I had a load of tesco points vouchers which at some stage will trade in for rewards and was thinking about putting them towards booking a family holiday in October with Cosmos. I read on the small print that you have to ring a certain number and do the booking etc through them. Now normally i do most of our holiday booking online as it tends to be a bit cheaper so I wondered how much do the prices vary from their website to when you actually book through them using tesco rewards? Is it more expensive?
In the last couple of years we have had Hilton hotel breaks and it tends to be the higher rate thats shown on the internet not the lower pre purchase one and can be about 15 - 20% more expensive. For that its not a problem, but i would be loathe to spend that percentage more on a holiday and actually find that by using my rewards i am worse off.
I hope I make sense!Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!0 -

yes i think you do pay more on holidays paying via tesco vouchers than the internet, i know on a butlins holiday if you pay via tesco you dont get any discounts, or percentage off, you pay full brochure price!!0 -

We've been on holiday with Cosmos using Tesco Deals vouchers and I can confirm that you have to pay full brochure price which is a fair bit more than the 'discounted' prices advertised on their website and in travel agent windows. You're right - you can only book directly with Cosmos over the phone, but it may help you to know their geographic phone number is 0161 209 4763 instead of the rip-off 0870 number they tell you to call.
Be sure to get hold of the relevant Cosmos brochure from your travel agent and price up the total holiday cost yourself using all the info in the brochure (supplements for using a particular airport, fuel supplements, etc) before you phone them, because they quoted us much more than the total price listed in the brochure until we challenged them about it.
Cosmos can also get quite awkward about the whole thing, they don't seem to like you paying in full using Tesco Deals vouchers (maybe the sales person doesn't get their commission or something?!) and even demanded that we paid a large deposit on my credit card even though we were paying in full using Tesco Deals. After we'd sent the Deals vouchers to Cosmos in the post it was a struggle to get them to refund my deposit to my card.
Having said all that, we spoke to a few other British holidaymakers in our hotel who'd booked the holiday as a "last minute" job in high street travel agents, and they'd paid around 15-20% less than what we paid in Tesco Deals vouchers, so we didn't get such a bad deal after all.0 -
Thanks for that! I have picked up the Cosmos brochures today and will have a look through. We would only be using a percentage in club card deals the rest we would pay.
So out of all the holiday deals that they offer which do people think is the best deal? Virgin or one of the others? I had thought about swapping for airmiles as we would like to go to canada in July 08 and i thought it could go towards that but i have heard quite negative comments about airmiles on this website so am waivering a bit!Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!0 -
can confirm you have to pay the full brochure price.just had 3 weeks in goa curtesy of clubcard (and birdseye beef in gravy).full brochure price was £2200 against £1700 internet price but still worked out a massive bargain.(real cost was £700 in beef).i just rang the number in the brochure to book and they were just as keen that i book with them even when i told them i was using clubcard vouchers.i think they actually rang me back a couple of times as well.had no problem getting the deposit back after sending in the vouchers.(deposit is £150 per person if i remember correctly)-....-.---.---. ..... .- -.-.

Bevann wrote:I recently used an online code for 1500 points when you purchase £50 of wine. This went through ok and I got confirmation that it was used, but the points didn't show when I got the order. I phoned up customer service and was told it can take up to 28 days for the points to be added. This was 1st December and my points still aren't showing when I checked my account. I also had 500 points if I recommended a friend to clubcard deals, but these aren't showing either (even though person has had their deal). Not used any large extra points codes before, so no idea if this is normal or not, but the ones in store are usually added quite quickly.
Dear Bevann ....
This has happened to me twice now ... on the first occasion I called and was told as you were ... i called back 2 weeks later and the Wine Club said to contact Clubcard ... I did and they added the points on manually
The second occasion was on my partners account and he has not got around to calling yet as they will only add if he calls ....
I wouls always call and ask them to be added there and then .... once the statement has arrived the time has passed ... you will have to wait until the next quarter to be able to use any points addred then ... a pain at holiday booking time!
Hope this HelpsLittleBill ... "The riches of a man can be measured by what he can do without"0 -
Fairly new to all this point gathering, but starting to get the bug for it. Trying for a quick boost in order to pay for an order I’ve placed in the current MFI sale.
1.) Are there any money off or extra points currently available for a £50 grocery shop, as all the codes I’ve tried don't work?
2.) Is the term R&R where you buy an item which comes with lots of points and then return the item for a refund? If so, are there any easy items currently on offer with 1000/1500 points?
3.) Can items ordered online be returned to the store for a refund?
Thanks all.0
