Already have the new account Laura, flipping changed it last week whilst doing my review! Have had to move money from savings into it, can't believe been so stupid trying to pay extra to my credit card that I left myself short!

Anyway, think I'm going to have to take a step back from MSE and not be on here so much, if I don't post much in other diaries please don't get offended, I just need to stay off here and get my sh*t in order. I almost walked out on my job today cos everything is getting on top of me and I know that is not a good thing to do. Will only be on here in the evening to update on any debt reducing progress, feels like I'm getting too obsessed trying to pay things off that I'm forgetting how to live. OH was on the receiving end up my call where I was crying down the phone and I'm really surprised he didn't dump me then and there. It's my fault and my mess and I will fix it, just need to have a break or something.

Sorry for the moaning post and thanks guys for listening! I don't want to bring anyone down with me, so if you want to post to say get a grip, that's good, I'll catch up with everyone at some point x

Aww, bless you. Totally understand where you are coming from, time out is always good and you become more focused again. Sometimes this place can become addictive.

Take care and look forward to some less regular updates ;) xx

Go have a break Swinstie and get your brain in order. Hope work doesn't get you down too much and you update here as often as you can.

Hugs to you Swinstie - of course we'll look forward to reading your updates as and when you can but hey, there's more to life! Spend some quality time together - going out doesn't have to cost a fortune and staying in snuggled up on the sofa can be just as nice, and cheaper still!

    Hi Swinstie,

I hope you start to feel more positive once you've had a break from being on here and trying to do everything.
Take some time out and learn to live a little again, ok.
Good luck and all the best, and I'll catch up with you sometime in the future.

Hi Swinstie - just do what is right for you. If that means staying away from here for a bit or cutting down on here that's fine - but try and stay on track still. Take care and good luck

    Hi everyone,

Well I feel like I am back to my old self at long last! After posting my mega 3-month plan, everything just ground to a halt and a catalogue of disasters happened, varying from work problems (where I nearly told them to stick it where the sun don’t shine), to the fiasco with the credit card. Re CC, I will admit to 25% of the blame as I have made many BT’s over the years and c*cked this one up monumentally by taking it out too early.

Good news though, I sent off my letter (dated 5th Oct, posted on 6th Oct) expressing my disappointment that they couldn’t have offered to extend the promotion period, I received a letter on 7th Oct, strangely dated the 6th, saying that they would extend for 1 month, so it will now expire 28th July instead of 28th June. A small victory for me and I won’t be grumbling over 1 month. Just means will need to sort a plan to pay off in 10 months. :j

Shouldn’t be a problem as I am definitely extending my DFD til Dec 2010, I may even wait and pay my loan off then, it will just be 15 months early instead of 18 months, what’s a few extra months. It will be worth it just to say I have paid it early.

Re: work, getting more organised there too and have set up a new email account for all work – getting the guys to use it is another matter! The manager I had the run-in with last week actually had a ‘word’ with me today, it was a nice surprise that he understood where I was coming from and even praised me on the work I do as opposed to getting on to me about the work I’m not getting done.

What other disasters happened?! Oh, yeah, last Friday I couldn’t find my Co. credit card but thought it was at home, pulled the house to bits and still couldn’t find it. Had to go to my boss (at 5.20pm) and ask him to arrange to cancel it. What a plonker, I’ve had it for 4 years and never lost it once. Anyway, was at a course Mon/Tues this week, came into work yesterday and there was my card, hiding under my telephone, duh! So had to wait on a new card, which luckily came today.

Also on Friday, realised that I had ripped the stubs off the Billy Connolly tickets I had bought for OH’s birthday (we were going on Sat night), phoned the venue only to be told that they were invalid and that the Box Office would decide if we got issued with new ones,! Needless to say when OH came down that night, I was howling like a girl, he was trying to comfort me, but every time I looked at him I burst out crying, as he looked so disappointed at the thought of missing the gig. All was put to right when a lovely lady from the Box Office called me at 8.30pm to say don’t panic, we’ll re-issue the tickets, phew! I ended up dragging him to the pub to celebrate, got very drunk and ended up quizzing him as to his intentions with me i.e. does he want us to be boyfriend and girlfriend when we are 60! I am never drinking again…. :D

Onto Saturday night (a bite to eat and a few drinks – oops did I say I wasn’t drinking again?!, I meant I wasn’t having anymore that night), the gig was fab and we had a great night. Even managed to get a few small presents for Christmas – some lovely hand-made soap, cos stealing your Reindeer idea Laura – thanks for that! Spent a bit too much but I felt like I needed it – have been trying to be too rigid with the spending but I’m getting back on track now. Get paid next Friday and it’s been a bit tight this month but I will get there eventually.

Oh no, another mega post from me, thanks for everyone’s best wishes, it really is like a little community filled with support on here. Will try and catch up with other diaries tonight. xx

Hey Swinstie - you are fab dude. :A Glad things seem to be coming together a bit more.

But you have us all on tenterhooks now! What did the BF say when you quizzed him?!?!?
(Have to say that the things I end up saying after a couple of drinks, are the reason I rarely drink anymore! :rotfl:)

    Well, wait for it.........

Bl**dy not a lot! For some reason (even when drunk) I couldn't get the words engagement/marriage to come out, so didn't actually get the answer I wanted. I kept saying that I didn't think we wanted the same things and he was saying he did want the same as me, now considering I didn't even say what it was I wanted, he could've been thinking I wanted a cup of tea or something. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I was talking to someone at work today re marriage and was thinking, I don't even want to do the deed but think I just like the thought that he wants to, if that makes sense. I think he felt a bit under pressure, and I don't want to ruin a good thing so gonna shut up on that matter now.

    Did you get my PM?

Hi Swinstie - great to see you back on track and fighting fit again. Have you tried dropping hints to your OH like talking about a (fictitious maybe?) woman you know who's ..... age (a bit older than you maybe) and is still unmarried and then say "not that I can talk" or something along those lines and see what he says. Do you get my drift? It could be worth a try.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
