Something needs to be done about this bank. They need a damn good kicking.
The FSA should reinforce the hardship exemption waiver. It was us, the taxpayer who bailed them out.
How do they reinforce the Hardship exemption waiver? What can they do to make it stronger? What recommendations would you make to the FSA when they renew the waiver in July 2009?0 -
I calmed for bank charges to natwest and they asked me to send them prove of the source that the fund is from.
As a student I stated that it was my parents who funded me.
After a while, they say for the fund that was supported by else-who, they are not eligible to pay back!! and they mentioned some sort of regulation too.
To me, it just doesn't make any sense at all!!!!
can anyone help me??
my charge is actually enormous!
As the bank charged me a charge as a mistake then charged another on the top and another and other and other and so on, while the account wasn't even being used!

I think I've given up with ours now! I hold no hope that we will get the money.
We claimed with Halifax and they accepted our hardship and still told us to wait and they would not pay out. (First letter sent in Nov 08, this reposonse was given in April 09.)
We have written to the Ombudsman and they say they will be in touch within 8 weeks (we're about half way through), but they said that this would just be to let us know who was dealing with the case etc and they couldn't guarantee the complaint would be dealt with straight away and could give us no further timescales as they are so busy.
Is there anything I can do or do we just have to sit this out?0 -
thriftkitten how did you manage to get lloyds to pay out, i have been trying since the waiver to get money back under hardship and while they have accepted that i am indeed in hardship all they will do is give unplanned overdraft to cover more charges. They insist this is all they have to do, any advice would be helpful.0

Is the 8 week period up yet? If it is, file a complaint with the FOS/court.
On your fin. statement, did you show that you're paying out more, than what you've got coming in, each month?
Lloyds seem to think they're above the law at the mo. My case against them, will be dealt with by an adjudicator at the FOS, soon. Its taken 4 months so far, to get to this stage. 9 months in total. I posted, recorded del. an updated financial statement to them, and the FOS today. I even asked the !!!!!!s to offer a settlement, now, before the test case, next week. I0 -
i contacted them in july 2007 when the waiver was put in place and told them i was in hardship they sent me a letter confirming this and said all they can do is give overdraft to cover charges and the ombudsman agreed they had done enough but i am still in hardship as i am having to pay the overdraft each month we are both out of work as my hubby had a break down and i am looking after him but as far as tsb concerned you can whistle for your money they owe me about 3 thousand now but dont think i will see any of it tsb are very good at putting you off . and as for there complaints department there less than useless i conplained in march because they tried to charge me when i hadnt gone overdrawn they put me through to india who put me on hold for forty minutes until the battery went on the phone they sent me a complaint letter and told me they would sort it in 8 weeks still not heard anything after 11 weeks totally ignorant to there customers complaints . i for one am sick of them.0

We have finally resolved our claims of unfair charges and would like to thank the money saving expert for the help in doing so.
Capital One
£745.00 claimed
£621.16 received
Barclaycard
£620.36 claimed
£573.01 received
We started the process in Feb 2008 and via the help of the FOS in April, both have just been paid. Next is our bank First Direct and Egg.
Thanks.:T0 -
