same sort of post as always skint and jill evelyn.i to phoned barclays last weak and was told a letter was sent yesterday and £900 was being paid in,my claim is for £2200.was told could send in another letter for rest.anyway today still know money in ,so phoned and was told they had to talk to the manager.she came back and said a complaint has just been put in against the person from last weak as the team are just dealing with it now.so i should hear by the end of the weak.has this happened to anyone?
  • Hope someone can help with my dilemma. I initially put in a claim for Bank charges reclaim (two years ago next month!!) as we are all aware of the stalling that has gone on since then. I am in financial hardship and have filled in an expenditure form all with standard replies! (The F.S.A. are involved with my case) However I really am in dire need of an appropriate outcome as I have outstanding bills, have increased my overdraft and had to use credit cards (For which I am being heavily charged!!) I have yet again today sent an email to the Ombudsman stressing my need for clarification in my case. I am at my wits end with all of this and I can see my son and I becoming homeless as I wont be able to pay my rent I have outstanding bills and am experiencing great difficulty in paying them. Seems to me that Natwest is one of the worst banks to me!!

well mine has all gone belly up since friday!!

i called barclays back up friday night as the money still hadn't gone in and the man re-read me the letter and then ran up to the other department to see if he could get someone to push it through, he came back and said they had all gone home but would give me £150 to tide me over the weekend and it would be monday it was paid in. i phoned back today at lunchtime and was told by a woman that i never should of even been read the letter and my claim hadn't even been authorised  she was more interested in telling me she would be having a meeting with these men i spoke to and they would basically be in trouble for revealing

so they have no idea if the manager will even authorise that amount or when it is likely to be, i tried to push them into getting it done quicker as nicely as i could but they just didn't seem to be bothered - i am fuming to say the least as ive done a huge asda shop this weekend, put a whole load of money on my gas and electric and petrol expecting to get that money through today

any advice on how to deal with this or push them into a faster response seeing as its their mess up much appreciated?

    Hi Liberty Lily

Yes I sent a legal beagles (Another very good site thats free like this one) type income and expenditure form, showing monthly deficit, I also sent proof of means tested benefit, rent arrears, utility arrears and debt collectors, they sent me a letter stating they would NOT be proceeding with financial difficulty as they couldn't see how my financial situation had had a negative impact on my account, After blowing my stack I called Andover and spoke to a nice lady and went through it again and she stated that I was indeed in financial difficulty, but said that she would log it on my case notes for all to see and wasnt forth coming about sending it to me in writing, after this I re sent the letter asking for my charges back to Andover stating that I had been accepted, I got a crap response so I sent them ANOTHER letter( a speedy settlement template) stating that if they were to settle with me for the full amount minus interest I would close the case and they seemed to go for it as after a few days I called Andover again and was about to blow my stack when the guy said they have agreed to make me an offer, it was in the bank the next day and I never even had to sign anything.

    Hi Thriftkitten,

Many thanks for the further info! I'm just in the process of putting together one last letter, then if that doesn't do the trick will have to pluck up the courage to call them. Will update if I have any success.
