I would replace the filters on all your active extensions. I can't work out what BT have done here (neither can anyone else it seems) but it doesn't seem like everything is being filtered at the master socket.
Putting back the extension filters and retesting can't do any harm. Make sure you include anything like a Skybox or fax machine. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

you still haven't posted the router sync speed, attenuation and snr
1. I'm pretty sure it's Download Speed - it says Speed 2.8 Mbps when I connect to my ISP.
2. Sync speed - Can't find, I'm using a BT Voyager 105 ADSL Modem. Says Rx data rate 2800 kbps.
3. Attenuation (db) - Local - 37.5 Remote - 24
4. SNR - Local - 13.5 Remote - 60 -
The left hand socket on your master faceplate is not Ethernet. Its an unfiltered connection that is meant for your modem/router to plug into. There is a little graphic of a screen on the faceplate.
As above post your router statistics when plugged into the master test socket using a working filter. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Ok, will do when I get a chance!
Is it important for you to know this info?
Cheers0 -
I said I would get the info when I had a chance, in fact I'm doing it now.
In actual fact I have a pretty good knowledge of PC's and Broadband but this one has really baffled me and it seems most of the people on here!
I thought I would get a better/faster connection through my master/test socket but it seems I don't.
espresso, I think you were being a bit personal there mate.
You were asked in post #6 "How is the extension wired to the master socket?
Where is your answer to that question? You will only see an improvement, if all internal wiring is isolated at the master socket.
If you have "a pretty good knowledge of PC's and Broadband" you would know what an Ethernet cable is!
"TalkTalk told me to try my connection in my Master Socket so moved pc to Master Socket plugged in A microfilter to tel line and connected DSL cable and tel line cable to microfilter - Completely Dead"
Obviously as that's what an ADSL fiilter does! Why did you expect this to work?
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

It did work after I plugged 2 microfilters in, 1 in each socket, so you don't really know what you are talking about!
I only came on here for a bit of help which penrhyn was trying to help me with then you come in on it not to help but to say "You obviously need help from others as you don't seem to have a clue yourself!"
There was no need for that!
Then you get even more personal in your next post.
It's not very nice ridiculing and bringing people down!
Anyway I don't have time for silly little arguments with you!0 -
Hi penrhyn
Here are the results of todays tests in my master socket as you requested.
1. It said Speed 2.7 Mbps when I connected to my ISP.
2. Sync speed - Can't find, I'm using a BT Voyager 105 ADSL Modem. Said Rx data rate 2700 kbps.
3. Attenuation (db) - Local - 37 Remote - 24
4. SNR - Local - 13 Remote - 60 -
