TalkTalk are Hopeless! Please Help with my Broadband Connection?

Hi
Could someone Please Help me with Broadband Connection?
I had a Digital Extension (ie. Tel and Broadband signals separated) Fitted by BT from my Master Socket to my Office (where my pc is) as I was told this would make my connection and speeds the best possible.
So, in my Master Socket there are now 2 connections, 1 for Tel Line and 1 with a long cable (Looks like an Ethernet cable connected into the Master Socket) connected to my Extension box where my Broadband is, in this box there is a DSL Line (small) and a Tel Socket.
I am at the end of my tether with TalkTalk,:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:, I have literally called them 25+ times and made several complaints regarding problems with speeds, when I started with TalkTalk 18 months ago I was getting 6.8Mbs D/L Speed but for the last 3 months I've only been getting 2-3Mbs and my connection keeps dropping every 5 mins and I have to reconnect all the time!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: It's very annoying!!!
TalkTalk have been hopeless, they have told me to do numerous things, speed tests, netstats, changed my profiles etc, none of which have worked!
Basically I just want to move away from them and move to another provider ASAP as I'm not getting anywhere with them but was wondering if someone could give me the following info?
TalkTalk told me to try my connection in my Master Socket so moved pc to Master Socket plugged in A microfilter to tel line and connected DSL cable and tel line cable to microfilter - Completely Dead - (No Signal) as BT fitted the Digital Extension to my Master Socket which has separated my Tel and Broadband signals so I cannot get Broadband through my Tel Line?)
What I need to know is How can I connect my Broadband to my Master Socket with this Digital Extension fitted?
Would it work with a Ethernet cable to a DSL (small) cable?
Is there such a cable?
Hopefully it will be better and I will get much faster speeds once I move to my new provider.
TalkTalk better not put any 'tags' on my line once I cancel them and make it difficult for me to move to another provider!
One more question.
Will I need a MAC Key when I move away from TalkTalk?
I emailed them to ask them this question and they replied
Reply 1. "No, you will not need a MAC Key as you are a LLU Customer"
I emailed the exact same question a few weeks later and they replied.
Reply 2. "I can confirm that if you were to transfer your Broadband supply to another provider you would require a MAC code"
Just shows you how good their Customer Services are?
Thanks
PS. I've tried SamKnows for my new provider.

What does your master socket look like, if you have a removable faceplate unscrew it and connect to the test socket underneath.
I have no idea what a 'digital extension'. If you have what I think you have there will be both telephony and broadband going up to your extension, despite only having an RJ11 socket at the far end.
Does it looks like this? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Hi
Here are pictures of my Master & Extension Sockets as requested.

Undo the two screws on the front of the master socket. The bulbous bit on the front will come away and you'll see a normal telephone socket behind. Plug a filter into that and then plug your router into the filter0

Tried that and it doesn't work.
Took screws out and tried it in there but The Test Socket did not have a ADSL Signal in it so only a Telephone will work in that socket.
Left socket is for ADSL only.
Try again.0 -
How is the extension wired to the master socket? If you remove the faceplate then it should be wired to the back of the faceplate, usually to the A and B terminals.
BTW Does your ADSL work from the right hand socket on the master? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
How can the test socket not have ADSL on it-the split surely takes place downstream of that?
penrhyn, he said that the left socket only is for ADSL.
I'm still baffled as to what the point of this 'BT digital extension' is, as the signal simply re-merges onto the common cable at the master socket again-how does that benefit the connection overall? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Its got me beat. If thats an example of a BT job then I'm not letting them in my house. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Hello there rtman85,
I'm no broadband expert but you will be able to get help with your conneciton speed etc at https://www.talktalkmembers.com/forums.
What type of service do you currently have from TalkTalk? Is it LLU (inclusive broadband) or do you pay a monthly fee for your broadband services? The cancelation process will differ dependant on what type of service you currently have. Again we will be able to look into this in more detail for you on the TalkTalk Members Forum.
Cheers

Right, Here's an update on my connection.
Been working on it all day and found out the following
Managed to get Broadband working in the test socket only after putting in 2 filters in, 1 in master & 1 in extension - Speed 1.8 Mbs
Then found out left socket in master (with faceplate on) is a Ethernet conection (I think it's called a RJ11 Cable that is connected to this socket which runs to the extension)
I connected a RJ11 - RJ11 Cable directly from the left socket in my master socket directly to my PC in my office - Outcome - Didn't work???
Lastly, Connected it back up normally with the extension - Speed - 2.8 Mbs.
Conclusion
Fastest connection in my office is when using the extension. Hmmmm
Any more thoughts?
EmmaL
Could you PM me with more details of what I should do?
I am on LLU Broadband.

is that 2.8mbs sync (as reported by the router), or d/load speed?
you still haven't posted the router sync speed, attenuation and snrUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0
