MLB - did you get my private message? The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

Maybe its time you thought about it too ? Its much easier when its both of you
Good luck either way

Lucifer - i was absolutely terrified, but i knew i had to tell him. Do it and soon, you'll be so relieved you did, honestly. Big hugs to you, because i know how hard it is.
bizzylizzy, unfortunately is IS £20k {gulp}, but it doesn't feel quite so terrifiying any more, now that i've shared it with H. I couldn't cancel my contract with orange, huge penalty if i did, but i've changed my tarriff so hopefully that will help.
Lookingahead - lol, yes, it was a bit soap opera-ish wasn't it?!! Thank you for your support xxx
Wigginsmum - no, i didn't. Where would that be? (sorry, new here!) would it be an email?
xxxxxxWhy is there always so much month left at the end of my money? :doh:0 -
I think you should be proud of what you have acchieved to be honest
You've come clean with your OH, You've cut up the offending cards, you're getting rid of pointless insurance that you don't use, you're coming to terms with the situation as it is and I think that is the first huge step to getting this sorted out
Point to note: check your insurance policy for your household contents insurance. It MIGHT cover you mobile phones but you'd need to check itDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

ring orange...I rang to change my tarriff and told them if they didn't offer me a better deal I would cancel.
My deal is....£25 per month, latest phone, 400 included minutes cross network per month, 120 included texts, included insurance, and £90 credit added to my account.
I got this deal after reading Martin's article and haggling. The only thing is that if I don't use the minutes up each month they are not carried over and it doesn't include 0845 numbers...but I think it's a good deal...so haggle...get put through to disconnections
I think you are so brave to post here, don't worry now, there are experts on this site who will help you, willingly, for free and without being judgemental, good luck....go ring orangeWombling £457.410 -

I have found it now and replied.
Many thanks xxxWhy is there always so much month left at the end of my money? :doh:0 -
LMB, to find your private message, go up to the top of the page, and it will say Welcome, lmb. Then it tells you the last time you visited, then it tells you about your PMs. Click on the blue bit to find them.
I was thinking of PMing you too, to ask if you live in London. I was originally going to invite you and OH to supper with me and OH, then I thought that was too weird, but if you do live in London you MUST come to the London meet!! (Which I've slightly lost track of, btw) But Ms London is supposed to be coming, and she cleared off all her debts - about the same size as yours, from memory.

Hi sashacat
I did call them, earlier this afternoon. Because i recently upgraded my phone (december), that then ties me into a new 12 month contract {grrrr} and if i wanted to cancel i'd have to pay 9 months line rental charges <eeek>, so that wasn't an option. I have changed my tarriff though, hopefully that will help me out a little! Why is there always so much month left at the end of my money? :doh:0 -
