Little miss Broke, Do you (well did you) have a EGG "MONEY" card, if so these are only 7 ish % interest for negative balances.

Yeah, how was your evening? I hope you managed to have a really good chat with your hubby and still feel so positive about making changes! Any luck phoning banks etc that couldn't help you yesterday?

Good afternoon all
Last night was great, we talked and talked and talked some more! He was wonderful, understanding and totally non-judgemental. For anyone who is scared to tell their partner about their debt, please don't be. Tell him/her, it'll be a load off your mind. Two heads are better than one and all that!!
Hmmm, the banks. Well, not as totally helpful as i was hoping to be honest. Both lloyds and virgin CC's have both cancelled the payment protection insurance, which will be a great help i'm sure (between them there was almost £50 a month going straight back onto the cards), but i was informed IF i did a "payment plan" i.e. reduced payments etc... it would affect my future credit rating. That's not something i really want to do if i can help it. I'm a bit disappointed to be honest, but i'm going to carry on paying the minimum monthly amounts for the next few months and see how i get on.
I had to go into town this morning and i was like a new woman! I bought nothing i didn't need (which was only 2 bithday cards!), went to the bank to do my change of name details and then came home.....on the bus. I'm ashamed to admit this, but usually when i go into town i always get a taxi home. Now i think to myself "what a total waste of money". I feel rather proud of myself actually! I know i have a long way to go, but i can feel positive about the future now, haven't felt like that for some time. Why is there always so much month left at the end of my money? :doh:0
