Probably wont be much help but heres a few suggestions for extra cash:
I see your a big mobile phone user. If you have old phones lying about try trading them in at https://www.envirophone.com could make you a little bit to put towards your debts.
Also check out the referalls board. Theres a cashback website called quidco. It gives you cashback for purchases, signing up for free trials etc. May not seem like much but i have accrued over £200 in just over 1 month. Money for nothing :j
Try flogging old clothes, ornaments, junk etc on ebay and tell the hubby that your preparing for your new life together ( ps. well done :T )
If you dont like the hassle of ebay, try:
https://www.cex.co.uk
You can trade in old dvds, games, electronics, mobile phone cables etc
Worth a look
Theres also free sms website that could save you abit, check this thread here :

Maybe join the £2 savers club here :

Very popular with many members here
Hope something i said can help a bit
Good luck :money::j Midmac Aka Crazy baby :j0 -
Those are great suggestions midmac!! I've added them on to my sites to check out list as well.

Hi LMB!
I just wanted to add my congratulations for the huge amount that you have achieved in such a short space of time :T I've been out all day and, as is always the way, log in to find so much has gone on while I've been away  !
Seriously though, the support shown by everyone on here is fabulous and the courage you have shown, little miss broke, to tell your hubby and make phone calls etc is inspiring. Big congrats for cutting up all your cards, thats a huge step :T .
The other great thing is that there are so many people who lurk these boards who may be in a similar situation to you and too scared to do anything about it. Your story will be an inspiration to them, be sure to keep us all updated about your progress!
Best of luck

Yes, I've just read the whole thread too. It's great that LMB has had such a good day, congratulations.
Looking at the SOA, I agree with an earlier post when it was suggested that some of the smaller debts could be paid off first to give LMB a feel good factor, and as it happens these are probably the debts with the highest interest rates (store cards and catalogues).
Then just keep snowballing and shuffle debts to obtain the lowest interest rates if possible.
It took me more than 2 years to get out of the debts I had. I had gone through all my adult life owing money to financial institutions, I cringe now when I think of all the interest I must have paid over the years.
With the help of this site and some self discipline I am now a changed man and debt free apart from the mortgage which has 5 years to run. These days I only spend what I can afford, so I don't buy much lol, but it is such a good feeling when you have bought something and you know that it is paid for instead of putting it on credit.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings, keep up the good work LMB and keep posting.

Hey chuck
I'm so proud :money:
What a day for you, eh? I'm glad you managed to get a better deal with Orange. Every penny helps. Make sure you set up your phone so you can record your minutes etc.
I told my mum about you cutting up your credit cards and she thought it was very brave. :A
I'll be thinking of you at 7pm. Let us know how you get on.

I just wanted to add, this site and the people here on this forum are inspirational. I can't thank you all enough for the support, help and encouragement, but i want you all to know, it means a lot, a hell of a lot, more than you could know.
I never would have guessed when i got up this morning that my day would pan out like this. As has been requent in the last few months, i hadn't slept well last night. I logged onto the pc, onto another forum i use and there just happened to be another poster who was looking for some money saving tips - someone gave her the link to this site and i decided to have a look. I spent most of the morning just reading, then decided to bite the bullet.
The support has been amazing and it's the response i got that gave me the courage to do all i did today, telling my H (which i would have been horrified at the thought of this morning), cutting up the cards etc.... Obviously i've done nothing to my debt today, as such, but i feel more positive, more in control (and that's a biggie when you're in debt i think, the feeling of it spiralling out of control and being unable to stop it) and confident that i can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel.
Gosh, i've rambled a bit haven't i?Anyway, i'm signing off now because H is on his way home, think we've got some talking to do, but i'm not scared or worried anymore. I know it WILL be okay.
Thank you, each and every one of you, from the bottom of my heart.
I will be around on this forum plenty from now on, it truly is inspirational and i'm delighted i've found itWhy is there always so much month left at the end of my money? :doh:0 -

He he, he thinks i'm an internet geek as it is, not quite sure what he'd make of this!! He knows i use another forum though (and is always taking the p out of me for it!), but that's very much a 'girly' forum if you know what i mean, recommendations for the next lipstick, jeans and so on lol!!
I think he'd be more than happy to know i was using this forum too, one that actively encourages LESS spending, not MORE!!!
Thanks mushy peas, you've been a star :TWhy is there always so much month left at the end of my money? :doh:0 -
