To many cocks not enough chickens (I think that sums up the forum):D0 -

Hens can actually go through a change that gives them the apprearance of cockerals when there are none around, but they cannot reproduce with other hens..so its not a true changes. Its quite rare.
But I think that peculiarity of nature sums up this forum at times more accurately than yours

the houses are selling. the good ones , in general , 15-20% off 2007 price, although i seen one seemingly sold for full asking price and another one at about 50% of advertised price. The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.0 -

I've bookmarked 30 houses since Christmas and most of them SSTC within a month. Of course it would be great to find out the prices they actually sold for.....nethouseprices takes too long!
We live in Berkshire too, at the weekend my daughter's friend was here for dinner - she works for an estate agent and is based in Twyford - I asked her if things were picking up, and she said they were - but the problem they had was lack of properties, or rather lack of good properties.
And she says they are getting offers in below asking price - the last one was £365k on a house advertised for £375k. I didn't ask if the offer was accepted.0 -

That seems to me to be a pretty decent offer purely on numbers.

I'd say that was a good offer too. It's funny because the price of our house has significantly reduced from peak but the houses we're looking to buy seem not to have dropped so much and are still selling (or so it would appear anyway).
I agree with the lack of good houses. I've yet to see anything that makes me want to put our house on the market for.Debt at LBM (March 2006): £30,000
DEBT FREE SINCE APRIL 2008!!!! YIPPEEEEEE!!!!!0
