    BoozeCruze GOOOOD LUCK

My Girlfriend has just had a letter from DLC
We had orange broadband transferred after much hassle to our new address then promptly went over to O2 (much much better) but they sent the letter to her old address and when I phoned those idiots at orange support they said they had no record of ever supplying broadband to our new address and said that I clearly didn't know anything about the case. HAHA what a joke
Im now going to ask DLC for a breakdown of exact costs as by law they must do this.

Watch this space, I'd love to sue them too.

    Hi,
I'm having trouble with ending the orange service. They keep wanting payments, but not taking them from my bank account and saying I'm late paying. Anyway, I thought I would write to them with copy of email when they said they would close my account, and came on here to hopefully find a 'successful' address to write to. i.e. one that has worked for someone else. I thought that the "company secretary, Orange home uk ..." one of the OP's would look so much better with the name of the company secretary. To that end, I have paid £1 on www.companieshouse.gov.uk to find that his name is Colin Caldwell (you can usually also get home addresses from companies house too - this has been handy in the past!)

    Nice one :)
Mine just went to 'The Manager' at their Verlum Point offices.

One thing I have learnt over the years, especially with Orange, is never phone.
Stick it in a letter and watch them try to argue against something in black and white.

You lovely people just about cover all I would want to say:j

I also wonder why certain apparantly mean spirited people visit this excellent Forum?
    Martin Lewis's Forum Logo says.............................................

    "Consumer Revenge".

This is exactly what I am after because of two years Anxiety caused by Orange Harrassing me for money which I do not owe. I am aged 66 and my Wife 61, do not owe any money anywhere and are trying to enjoy our Retirement. Worrying letters and telephone calls from a Debt Collecting Agency do not help.

£450 is a small amount to claim for what has happened to my Wife and I really, but if it does help set some sort of precident then GOOD.

you sir, are fraud. it is people like you that'll turn this country into america where doctors will be sued for treating patients
if you wanted to avoid all this "Anxiety" you could have paid the £23. you even paid more for putting a claim against them.

How many letters/ phones calls did the op have and over what period?
I agree with the tangible costings:
for example how many letters did you get, and was it for £23.00
How many telephone calls did you get?
How many letters did you write and send regarding this account.

A basic costing could be a rate of £10.00 per hour, each letter would take say 5 minutes to deal with. I think those who are being critical are right to do so as the 450 mark seems unreasonable. look at the CISAS it states for example,

If the Reviewer decides that a user complaint should be upheld then he or she may require that the Company should make an apology, or take some other corrective action and / or pay appropriate compensation, up to £250, for damage, distress or inconvenience to the person or organisation making the complaint.

Also check out past cases and see how unsucessful people claiming for stress caused etc has been. Orange has offered you £s to settle.

But its your money and time - Good luck

What track (eg, fast/small) would a case concerning harrassment/Stress be allocated to? if you already submitted your claim?
    student loan : £7083  2. Halifax : £661; Capital One :£297, BarclaysCard :£370 ; Barclays Bank CDL : last payment due 2013 ; AIM 1 : £PAY OFF CREDIT CARDS @ £70PW for the first 3 months of new job

    Saving aim : £12000 per year Nov 2011 - Nov 2012 (£250 pw)

And you Sir are one of the faceless mass of spineless individuals who drop their trousers and bend over because some "Mister" tells you that you owe them money so just pay up because you clearly have more money then sense.

So how does someone who can prove and has documentary evidence prove that they do not owe the money ? do they not reply and then deal with the baliffs, or just write and explain they dont owe money and get ignored, or do they fight back with a claim to make the other party come to it's senses? pray tell how YOU would deal with this, just write down how YOU would have dealt with this differently ? no snide comments, no abuse, just a factual response ......still waiting  then after you reply with a response to Orange you can take back your ridiculous slander of calling this person a fraud.

In this case its obvious the OP didnt owe Orange a penny, Its the people who DO owe money and argue about not paying that annoys me.

Thank God there's still some people for whom the principle is more important than the money.

I can't believe all the negativity on here. As someone who has successfully used the Small Claims Track to put the thumbscrews on companies (including successully claiming compensation for distress and inconvenience) I reckon the OP is a racing cert to get his money, and quite right too. I've never had a claim actually reach a hearing, and I confidently predict that in this case Orange too will pay up long before that.

As for all that misleading mumbo-jumbo about costs: the OP isn't claiming for his costs in bringing this case, he's claiming for all the time he's wasted fighting with Orange *before* he brought the case. And no, Orange will not claim £150 per hour for it's costs, this is the Small Claims Track in which normally neither side can claim legal costs.
