What part of a so called non-issue do you find hard to understand,

"And then two months ago the DLC Debt Collecting Agency started to Harass me with Telephone calls and Letters." Is this a non-issue

Did you read the Op post, pray enlighten us exactly and spell out how you would have dealt with this ?

    1. Ignored all correspondence and hoped it would all go away ?
    2. Write to the company and tell them to stop?
    3. Ring them and ask to speak to a manager?
    4. Write them a blank cheque and ask them to fill in the numbers bit?

Please detail specifically what you would have done differently ? dont generalise, just specifics please, and then possbily boozecruiser can tell you if this was attempted or not, and what effect it had, and then you can answer and we may all learn from you ?
Below is from my original post........................................

I thought some of you guys might be interested in my battle with Orange who have been chasing me for only £23. I changed from them in 2007 to Talk Talk and then my problems started when they started to write to me saying I still owed them £23.

Following a battle I have two letters from them in 2007 which apologized to me and said that no further claim for money would be made against me.

And then two months ago the DLC Debt Collecting Agency started to Harass me with Telephone calls and Letters.

I have sued a Company 3 years ago and I was awarded £950 (Which the Company Paid) so they are messing with the wrong bloke.

    I sent this off yesterday...As I Have Had Enough :mad::mad::mad: (6th April 2009).

Yes, in 2007 I had endless letter and telephone calls from Orange and absolutely nothing I said to them would make them stop. It was only at the stage when I complained to Ofcom and requested a deadlock letter that they backed off and made an apology in writing. Then two years later they set a Debt Collecting Agency on me. Yes Tozer, exactly what would you have done?
    Sent them Flowers I expect!

Please also note that in a previous experience I won £950, and it didn't even go to a hearing. Better than your Tiscali boast M8y.

Go on, answere Happychappy if you can.
You've heard the budget speech now you've been told. Make lots of cash then die before you're old 'Cause we're gonna Tax Gran that's what it is We're gonna Tax Gran freeze her allowances. You better hope next winter isn't cold. We're gonna Tax Gran, we're glad she's there. To subsidize the Billionaires. We're gonna Tax Gran and this is wrong!

Compensation grabbers cost us all money?

It's the Companies that Rip US Off and cost US money that should matter to all of us.

Though people who make fraudulent claims in respect of Insurance and false Chancer Compensation claims I agree with you.

Mine was not in either catagory.

I accept apololgies quite readily M8.:D

Can you not understand that Orange where threatening to take ME to court for money I did NOT owe. What would YOU have done I ask?

Pay up I expect? Pray tell me;)

I would have escalated this in an appropriate manner rather than trying to pursue a hopeless claim.

If the debt was not due, surely being "harrassed" by debt collectors is a non-issue.

Oh, learn to read - your spelling of my name is wrong - or were you trying to be witty? :rotfl::rotfl:

Not company saving. Just people who thought your ill-founded legal action was a little OTT.

I shouldn't flatter yourself. The 56.3% actually only represents 30 people. How many people are registered on this site???

I think you will find that most people couldn't really be bothered to read about cause celebre.

I'm all for the OP, well done, I get the feeling you could have gone the whole way and won but as learnt from watching 'deal or not deal' sometime its best to deal ;)

... and this thread isn't useless, its useful for anyone else in the same situation previously, now or in the future.

    Hello again all:D

This morning (19th May 2009) I received the following letter from Orange. I quote from the relevent point...........................................................

'In light of the above, and in the interests of saving time and costs involved for both parties in going to court, I am willing to offer the following in full and final settlement of your claim, on a strictly without admission of liability basis'

    1. The sum of £35 to cover your court fee; and

    2. A further sum of £100 as a gesture of goodwill

    Total: £135

We believe that this offer is reasonable in the circumstances as Orange has apologised for its error, and has refunded the amount in dispute.

    ...................................................................................................

My answer already sent off to Orange:-

    Orange

    Good Morning,
Thank you for your letter received this morning dated 15th May 2009.

Please note that I do not agree with Orange account of what happened in respect of it's original claim against me in the sum of £22.99 and totally reject the assumption that I owed any monies whatsoever to Orange.

However, to draw a line under this, I am willing to accept your offer of £135 without predudice, in respect of full and final settlement in respect of my claim, and I also accept that this is strictly without admission of liability by Orange.

In order to close the situation finally for both Orange and me I would appreciate if you can make payment at your earliest convenience to my Bank Account as follows:-

    .................................................................................................

So there you have it guys. I have come to the conclusion that it is probably just about wiser to accept this offer than pay a further £50 to take it to a Court Hearing.
I have listened to everyone, even the wannabe solicitors:D and various snide remarks people:rolleyes:.

I do hope that this post has given some people information which may help them, and even amusement to all.

The only thing that has suprised me here is finding an amount of apparantly mean spirited people who seem to be on the side of the Companies who Dump on us rather than the people who have been Dumped on!:D

best Wishes to everyone and I would of course welcome any further comments........good:j...................or................. bad:p

    :T BRAVO and well done.
If I had my way I would like all big companies to act sensibly and to stop bullying customers.
