Can anyone suggest job for son to earn money? Have gone down the paper round route but to no avail. He seems to be too young for a job in a company. Thanks.

Try your local market although I believe there are long waiting lists!

My daughter is 14 and a few of her friends work at the local pub waiting on - they can only do so many hours a week though

Any cafes or restaurants nearby? I'm sure he'd be very welcome as a washer-upper or table clearer.
  • how about he gets all of his old junk (plus yours and othr family's old junk) and sell it at car boot sale? of course you'd have to take him etc:D ..its what my little sister used to do every now and again when she needed some cash
    totally a tog!:D

One job that seems ok-but tends to need a bit of parental help is delivering freebie papers. Sety sum for a set route-paper usually goes through all letterboxes and you have 4-5 days to do the route so you can time it to your convenience

My son is 14 and so desperately wanted to have perhaps a little Saturday job at the local kennels. We asked them but sadly at his age he is not allowed to work there, even voluntary as it's all to do with insurance etc.
My second favorite household chore is ironing. My first being, hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint.

Hi, other than a paper round what other jobs can a 13 year old legally do?

My son really wants to earn & we have his name on the paper round waiting list. Wasnt sure if ther was anything else he can do.

    Thanks!

    send him up the chimneys
  • I don't think there's much, I went with my 15 year old to lots of places and they all said to come back when he's 16 because of insurance :(
