But.....
...it is important to note that there are differences between this offer, and the £299 offer of about a week ago.
1) NO wifi
2) It is not DVD r/w, it is a cd r/w with DVD
Other than that, just call up and order one (or 5)...
If you get any trouble with the sales person, remember the following :
1) get the salesman's name first off
2) Explain that you have spoken to Dell customer services and they have told you to tell the salesman that there is a "cradle to grave" in operation (the salesman will know what this means), and that if the salesman does not sell you the laptop without any upgrades (unless you want them of course), or hangs up, or gives a phony order number etc, you have been told to call customer services back, quoting your own telephone number, and they will track it to the salesman and discipline them.
This really works (although I was told you really will have no hassle anymore).
If this does not work for anyone (or if it does come to think of it), please post on here...
It's still a good deal, but obviously without the wifi or the DVD r/w it's not as good!0 -

.........
Integrated 8xDVD+/-RW Combo Drive
Personally if I was ordering one myself I'd argue the toss long and hard that the advert clearly states 8xDVD+/-RW Combo Drive NOT 24x cdrw/3xdvd combo drive although I must admit Old Mother Shaboo decided to try and order one of these today and was told it was only a CD writer (I wasn't there to argue the toss!!).
@ marlowtech on a slightly different note, I don't suppose your friendly Dell employee has wind of any upcoming offers to replace this one, perhaps another 'Weekend Special'?
Cheers,

Same here, my confirmation did say cdrw, but I got back in touch with Dell, and they said that was a typo, and mine will be dvdrw. Bought an extra 512 ram from lowestonweb for £25, so I am well chuffed! Same laptop is £339 in todays papers.Official member of the BB B*tches club. no 2 B*tch.
