My order confirmation says

24x CDRW/8xDVD Combo Drive, It says on ad 8xdvd+/- rw combo drive, and he said that to me on phone, everyone elses the same? Is that right? An hour on the phone, I cant go through the trauma of ringing again!!!

It really is very unprofessional, I was on the phone 41mins and couldn't order it unless i took upgrades.

I haven't found anyone who finds the following doesn't work. I got this from someone at Dell.

1) Firstly get the name of the salesman who answers the phone
2) Explain (politely) that you have been hung up on twice and told you need upgrades etc, and have spoken to Dell customer services.
3) Tell the salesperson that Dell CS have told you to tell them that there is a "cradle to grave" system in operation. This means that if they do not sell them the laptop for £299, or if they hang up, or if they give a phony order number, you will call back dell CS, give them your telephone number, and from that they they will track it back to the sales person you are currently speaking to.

Dell CS really can do this (and they will if necessary).

If this doesn't work then please let us know!

I have emailed them, they are not getting away with that!
What a performance, as soon as I said I wanted no upgrades, suddenly, they did not know what system I was talking about! In the end I rand customer sales services, gave her all my details and told her I would not be put off, I didnt want upgrades, and I wanted to buy it today, that did it!

you'll have to email or ring, thats a cd writer and dvd player. the 8xdvd+/- rw combo is a cd and dvd writer. They are trying it on again. This must be their latest trick.

My list number is N03135, and is the same as the one on the web, I bought this laptop yesterday over the phone and it is identical to that listed on the web today with same e-value code of N03135 (it is identical as I have checked the specs from my order confirmation and those on the web)

Mine says List NO3135 - DHS 1300 good. The confirmation also says it has a fixed internal 8x DVD +/- RW drive with software. This is the same as the one on the web site isn't it?
