Me please, thanks, you got my details.
Hi WVW i think I saw you say you were back on the Ads again
    You might like this
"the actions of antidepressant drugs may not reverse the cause of the depression but may merely change the expression of the symptoms" (Oxford Text of Psychiatry).
A good little game one can play to alleviate anxiety is tosssing a ball from one hand to the otherat stomach level. you just throw the ball from left to right hand keeping your hands a few feet apart. try it for a couple of minutes when anxiety sets in and see the effects.

Thanks but right at the moment I'm too tired and depressed to feel anxious - the depression hits when the anxiety levels get to the point where I can't cope. Strangely enough when I am depressed my anxiety levels reduce drastically - probably because I just don't care. I simply haven't got the energy or motivation to throw a ball around, I can barely put the kettle on to make a hot drink. I've hardly been out of bed for the past 2 weeks and I know that all I can do at the moment is wait. Coping with depression means accepting that for a while you just have to exist and get through it day by day and hour by hour until you manage somehow to build up a little bit of strength to really start fighting it. I know damn well that the ADs aren't going to change the reason for my depression (work problems, financial problems, loneliness, zero self-esteem etc) but if they can give my mood a bit of a boost so that I can at least start doing things like getting dressed, eating and going out then that is a start and I can then start building on that.
I set this thread up to deal with the issues like low self esteem etc. Financial problems we can look at too though that in more general is what MSE is about. work probs are possibly out of our scope unless you want to borrow my bodyguard to beat the crap out of your boss :D
low self esteem you see is a learnt condition. babies dont have it but it gets installed at a later stage in our lives rather like a virus in a computer it can be removed.
Who I am is not important. What I do is.

Hi everyone, just wanted to pop in and say hello and to say I've not forgotten you all. Lots been happening some good some bad. Work situation getting worse another barny with boss but again he was in the wrong, he made me see company doctor with a view of getting rid of me but that backfired as company doc admitted to me my boss has a history of harassing his staff! I'm not strong enough to take things too far for now but everything is being filed away should I ever take him to court.

Well done space donkey for getting a job, WVW sorry you're feeling bad at the moment. AB thank you for your excellent posts and help.

Hi Ssssss. Sorry to hear about the workplace but I am sure you can handle yourself. Please keep posting I think we all wondered where you had got to. And Alison too where is she:confused:. This thread has been quite quiet lately which is sad because everyone has so much to offer. we can all motivate each other which is different from the other thread where everyone is very nice but they dont seem to be going anywhere.
I have a lovely boss. She is so caring and kind to me but she has a wicked sense of humour and keeps playing practical jokes on the staff.

Sounds like he needs the company doc more than you:rotfl: Next time he gets stressed perhaps you ought to say " well I passed the medical. Have you had one yet?"
    My motto
"when some one is kicking your butt you know you are in front"
is quite useful to say in earshot of the boss but not to him after he has had a stop.

Glad your boss's plan backfired, Sssssss. Why do people have to behave like this?

On another note I just wanted to share some good news. My younger brother and his wife are expecting a baby and tonight she has gone into labour - she was due on 26th! Im so glad she didn't have to be induced and that she's started on her own!

Im hoping he has a girl - no particular reason I just would love to see him with a little girl! Its bound to be boy though seeing as how its arriving so late!;) Please send positive vibes for a smooth labour for her (glad all that business is behind me!!!)

Fantastic news Beachbeth. or should I say aunty
Flames in the Garden of Eden
Heaven in pieces at my feet
    I faced the raging ruins
    Of a million sleepless nights
I need to rest my weary head
    On your resurrection bed.

Congratulations. Hope all are doing well. Was it a girl or a boy? Not that it makes much difference as long as they are healthy.

    That's lovely Auntie beachbeth!:D

Sssssss your boss sounds like a right pr!ck!

WVW hope you're feeling better :grouphug:

I'm good. Little terror has started waking again in night and with him being about six months near enough I'm thinking he's needing food, so we're planning on giving him his first food this weekend when OH can do it. I love it, it's so exciting but makes me feel a bit sad - not such a little baby anymore - but loads more exciting things to look forward to.

Saw my psych last week, seeing him again in three months when he might sign me off. I have got to see a psychologist though as I keep pulling out my hair but the depression has eased off. Been doing lots of positive thinking and almost thinking about how I enjoyed things when I was younger by having stuff planned to look forward to, trips out to see friends and with the girls (meaning trips out with DDs and trips out with grown-up 'girl' friends!)

Lots of 'big' stuff being planned too, mainly working towards going back to uni to study midwifery, and (gasp!) getting married next year. Woo!
