I meant it as more of in spite of this thread rather than it being any kind of a recommendation.

It was the fact that most of them were newbies with 1 post that made me not take any of them seriously. I think a lot of the time the way you are with people makes them decide how they are going to be with you, manners and common courtesy don't cost a bean.

We will see, time will tell fingers crossed I do not have any kind of accident then I will have no need to test mu theory :)

Agreed, I'm with you on this. I have used these for a couple of years now and no issues, one no fault claim with wife's car but got sorted through other parties insurance but when we rang to let the, know and discuss options they were very good. We changed car mid policy, we knew there would be an admin charge and had factored that in to policy cost so no issues there.

There has been a recent issue with their back end system failing to collect my direct debit which seems to be troublesome for them to correct, they are currently calling me at a convenient date for myself to take payment over phone, all very friendly and professional.

They are quite a bit cheaper than the next nearest policy and am more than happy so far, admittedly haven't had a fault claim yet though to measure but all the departments have spoken to so far have been very pleasant with English as first language

I agree, at the moment I am welcoming the new premium of £26 a month fully comp from £52 with Swift Cover, it is a lot of money to save over the year.

I took it out yesterday, within 5 minutes the cover not was emailed to me and all the policy documentation is available for download in the customer portal. The car has sat idle on the drive for a couple of weeks as I have been ill and sorting out insurance was the last thing I wanted to do, MID yesterday was showing it as not insured, checked again this morning and now showing as insured. So far 10 out of 10 I could not be happier :)

    Quick Update

So far so good, no problems what so ever, yesterday I received details of a key loss policy that is included for free, they sent me a snazzy key ring which has a customer number on that I have to put on my keys but then I am covered for key loss replacement whether it be car, home or even commercial upto £1200 a year with no excess and no loss of no claims bonus!

Never had that from any another company!

They seem to communicate well with other insurance companies, or maybe there is more than the one database as I have not even been asked for proof of my no claims, which in fairness seems to be the norm nowadays this must be recorded somewhere they have access to as neither did Swift Cover or M&S request this.

I am a happy chappy and loving the half price premium :)

Do this insurance company ask for your driving licence details to be sent off ? As I have lost them in moving houses thanks
  • Just cancelled my insurance and they advised that a £50.00 admin fee was applicable (which I was aware of) and then advised that a £50.00 cancellation fee was applicable aswell!! No where in their terms and conditions does it state this. They appear to make it up as they go along. I wouldn't advise anyone to use this insurance company.....

If it's not in their terms and conditions then make an "Official Complaint" It says in your policy where to send the letter.

It costs nothing to complain and they are duty bound to properly investigate the matter.

1st central insurance is the cheapest for me (£37 per month, next cheapest is Go Girl insurance at £60 even though i am a guy lol, big difference in price) and this is threw comparethemarket.com (also cheapest comparison site for me). and this quote is with 2 extra driver on provisional licence (1 who has only had theirs less than a month) and i have 2 years no claims, my current insurer (tesco bank) wanted me to renew at £71 per month with just myself on it and £90 per month with the 2 added drivers lol, i am NOT renewing my insurance with them.

    MY QUESTION IS THIS
i was wondering if 1st central lets you drive other insured cars as standard as i am going to need to transfer some of my granddads cars from 1 end of the country to the other end lol.

i have also read online that some insurance companies REFUSE to give you proof of no claims when you leave them, is this the same with this insurance company or not??
i was about to buy the insurance from comparethemarket.com now, untill i saw this post on google, so will be buying when i read what people say to my post :)

It's been a few years since I was with them, my policy did allow driving of other cars but this was third party cover only but I am also aware that some policies didn't have this cover, maybe person specific???

Didn't have any issue getting proof of no claims but you could just use the renewal notice if needed

    ok no problem.

might just phone them up tomorrow and ask them, if they can offer be a better price over the phone then i may as well do it over the phone, but if not, i will do it threw comparethemarket.com so i get my free teddy :)

Not to sure what to do now, I am planning on moving in a few weeks, just done a quote for my new address and it's gonna cost me £78 per month (more than double what it is at my current address) and 1st central can't offer me an online quote for New address.

Should I just take out 1st central insurance at my current address fir the cheaper price of £37 per month and inform them I have in a few weeks? Or would they refuse to transfer my insurance over to New address? If they refuse to transfer it, do I incur any costs??

I wouldn't mind but the address I am moving to is a nice quiet and peaceful area with hardly any crime, has a private driveway and garage yet parking in a garage INCREASED my quote, parking on the street was cheaper option, (np198bj) and a police officer lives about 6 doors away lol? The area I am in now is well known for car theft and criminal damage as well as anti social behavior and drugs. Makes no sense.

Also if they do decide to transfer it but at a higher rate (for example double what they offered for my current address), would I incur any costs if I need to cancel due to it being not able to afford the New quote??
