Bear in mind that the salvage yard who have your vehicle are most likely close to an area affected by the flooding so may be inundated with flood damaged cars. Sometimes after a natural disaster, then can be delays with claims due to the sheer number of claims0

Took out insurance as they were the cheapest
They Started my policy 2 weeks earlier not on the date i said
I declared i had 1 fault accident in last 10 years
This morning they took 170 from my account out of the blue as they said i did not declare the accident i declared
bear in mind was not to start to 24/10/16.
phoned them up man was really obnoxious and said well what u EXPECT me to do about it. ??????
Luckily i record all important conversations from the start even ask the name of person im talking to etc date and time.
re phoned and they said they will refund as i have now cancelled with no fees ? .... so will have to wait... to top it all put me overdrawn so now paying bank fees.
update
i told my bank to block these rip off artist after they took another 160 from my account without permission and the have sent me a demand letter for even more with bailiffs involved0 -
Did they take the £160 by Direct Debit or from your card?
You should be able to get the bank charges back0 -
Do not be drawn on the cheap fee like I did from price comparison site. Not only do they charge a 50 admin few when I swapped cars, I found at I could not drive any other cars despite being fully comphrensive. Surely you would thought loyal customers might be rewarded? When I cancelled I got charged a cancellation fee. I questioned this with them but they said it was all in my contract, I'm sure it wasn't but if it was they hid it extremely well! My car change was from a sporty 1.6 to a standard 1.4. So I thought incorrectly that as the engine power and value of the car had decreased so would my policy. In this time I accrued another a year's no claims bonus. After all these factors my premium went up! I queried this with them but this apparently how they do not calculate their insurance. Interesting to see what they base it on? Their customer service is appalling, when I called I asked for the person's name but they said it was against company policy. I wonder why they don't want anyone to know they are!

When is a £50 cancellation fee not a £50 cancellation fee? When it's a £50 admin fee from 1st Central car insurance!! (Even within the 14 days cooling off period)
I phoned to ask if I was covered to drive a friends car in an emergency as the cover information was confusing and contradictory. Answer No! And no way of adding it apparently! If you cancel you are ripped off!0 -
Most insurers charge a fee of some sort for cancelling (including during the "cooling off" time)
This should be set out in the policy docs.
If there is no mention then you have grounds for a complaint0
