With regard to Bio-Oil, I have been using the one mentioned from Savers called Rescue Oil, which was £1.99 a bottle, gone through 4 bottles so far so have saved quite a bit instead of paying £8 a bottle. I have tried samples of Bio-Oil though that came free with magazines and bounty packs and I really prefer the Rescue Oil.
I've been using Bio-Oil, Palmers Cocoa Butter and another Cocoa Butter moisteriser. I've been moisterising at least twice a day and so far so good. No stretch marks. My belly button has shallowed a lot this week though so I hopefully I can keep stretch marks at bay with the growing I've got left to do. Fingers Crossed.

Hiya AM, I figured you might recognise my name from the Arms!

Okay folks, this is probably not the right thread to post but I'll take any assistance ... what are the chances of entitlement to WTC (and FTC when the bean arrives)? I'm out of work at the moment, and contrib-JSA would run out in September, about when I could start claiming MA thank goodness. OH earns about £13K. Reckon we've got a chance?
ok you should get plenty CTC's as We 'lose' about half of ours as OH earns 'too much' (>£24k) :D
JSA is counted as income for tax credit purposes, have you read the details for MA yet as I'm not entitled to apply until after bubs arrives :( (I too was on cont-JSA) previously
As far as I can gather, you should be entitled to CTC when baby arrives and, sorry to ask, but how old are you and OH? :D. WTC is only payable to those over 25 I think! Have a little play with entitledto.com.
    xx
You're wrong SB :p:D We get WTC and neither of us are 25 yet ;)

After a sleepless night I have woken to find I'm still bleeding with clots aswell (sorry if TMI) but there is still no pain or cramping. I have rung the doctors & asked them to bring my appointment forward to 10.30am & my OH is coming with me so that we can push for a referal to EPAU. Thank you to everyone who has given me support, as I would never have had the courage to this without your advice.

Hope everything goes okay for you at the doc's and then at the hospital...

Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you...

    Take care

Is that definately true. If so, I should be Ok. I think I had a smear test about 2 years ago. Think I'll still go the the GUM Clinic just to be sure though.
I think you need to check as I'm pretty sure they don't test for chlamydia at smears in my area (I have no experience of a smear coz I'm not entitled )
the test for just chlam is deff a pee in a pot here but I know other STI/STDs require a swab.
I can't find my blooming letter now coz I was gonna get tested just in case.

OH obviously doesn't realise what he's done because he tried to just carry on as normal this morning and give me a kiss which I dodged, then a bit later he tried to hug me and I said don't touch me I can't stand you at the moment he said please I don't like it when your like this - I give up! I don't have the strength to sort it out right now, I'll try and have a talk with him tonight.

Chris has just proclaimed "no mummy bloody website" whilst shutting my webby :( then said something I couldn't work out about daddy (his speech isn't perfect yet) so he obviously picked up what happened yesterday and clearly hasn't dismissed it!

Thanks Sami. We're both going along next Friday morning for the tests at the Walk in GUM Clinic to be on the safe side.

Sorry that I can't give you any advice. I wouldn't know what to do in your situation. But I do think that you need to start talking about things with your OH.

  • hi sami, hope you manage to sort things out with OH, this is the last thing you and Chris need with a new baby on the way.

can i ask why / how you get WTC? OH works full time, i wotk PT and we only earn about 20k, even when we earned about 16k we werent entitled to anything, i thought the threshold for WTC was around 15k?

I've been using Bio oil every night since I was few weeks pregnant and got 3x 200ml bottles when Boots were doing the 3 for 2 offer. I've got around 2/3rd's of the last bottle left so hopefully that will last me until the end now! In the mornings I have been using the Sanctuary Mum to be body butter as I didn't want to get the bio oil on my clothes...

I'm now 36 + 6 and no stretch marks so far...not sure whether that it down to the creams or just the way I am????????

Nice tip about the rescue oil though. I will have a look when I'm in there next...

  • Hugs the Leopardlady x and fingers crossed for Nik.

Sami - I have no idea what to suggest here. I think you def. need to sit down with Hubby and work out why he reacted as he did...it will be the only way you will be able to move on, one way or another. Only you can decide how things go, but you have to make sure you are doing the best for Chris and Bump! x
  • I'm using Palmer's Cocoa Butter, again from Wilko as it's cheapest I've found it. I know others have said they found it a bit greasy, but I find it best for my very dry skin from Eczema.
