.. I want OH to be able to feel bean though - makes it more real for him as well. He might starting talking to bean then as well instead of giving me funny looks for doing it!!
Am I wicked for willing baby to kick OH in the face when he's got his head stuck to my bump, "communicating" with baby? :whistle:0 -
I'll be one of the first to get my P60 (as everyone's will land on my desk within the next week!) so I'll put the figures in then let you know what it comes out with
(hope no one sees it as boasting.. I know it's a decent amount but trust me we have £30k of debt between us so it's not a life of ultimate luxury by any means!
)
I think we manage to have many luxuries other's don't because we don't splash the cash on stuff IMHO that is unnecessary0 -
Thanks Elle - I always get my P60 really late and usually after alot of nagging - which I always have to do on behalf of everyone
Oh, and I'm always telling bubs to kick daddy in the head - he hasn't listened yet, but I do say it out load so OH knows0 -
not boasting at all honey! Is it wrong that I feel [STRIKE]immensely[/STRIKE] ever so slightly smug when I see people come on here and say how on earth do you survive on SMP and then in the next breath say they and partner earn £50+k each

I think a little like that too!. But I also know that we are lucky to have a relatively low mortgage which I could have managed just on my own previous salary. And we have no debt!.

OH gets £25 spending money in his DMP budget - the rest goes on his debt. I end up with £600 spare after £600 debt/bills/savings which ends up being spent on unneccessaries or saved and I think SMP/CB/CTC will work out to be £600 a month so I'm just working on not having that money for unneccessaries, plus I'll have all my debt paid off before starting Mat Leave so won't have those outgoing too (secret stash of money saved with Mum being used!
). That's the plan anyway!
When I go back, I'm working the figures out on earning half what I do now which would be £600, which by then we should be used to living on.. *fingers crossed*

Althou I earn £25K per year I lose approx £700 per month in tax, NI, pension and student loan.
I don't smoke, drink, go out much, buy new clothes unless I need them. But I have a new car and a big mortgage. My biggest problem is taking cash out for something small and then spending the £7 odd change on nothing!
I owe £1500 which doesn't seem much but is when you are trying to save when off on SMP.
I am sure we will be fine on SMP but it's the thought of losing £100 of my wages each month.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Hi everyone, have been through this thread so here goes my catch up...
I used the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature pump last time & found I had to lean right forward (not pleasant with c-section healing) or it dripped back out (maybe I just had loads of milk!). Can anyone recommend a diff pump that they have used previously?
I did my Preg Grant form very promptly & still haven't had anything - does anyone know when they pay the money? Is it when we've given birth/registered it?
MrsTine - are you a first time mum? Don't want to sound patronising - you will use all 12 of those muslins - good amoutn to have as will always be some in the wash, changing bag, on your shoulder, under your baby's bum etc... Also we have a swing - we bought it when J was 8 weeks old - best £100 I've ever spent! Very good for colic! Have you seen those clothes driers/hangers you can get from places like Warehouse Clearance - I think they are meant for socks etc. They are very useful for drying small baby clothes on the line without taking up the whole line!
Shellsuit - the only thing that works for me is the activity that got me this way in the first place!
Astonsmummy - have you got SPD too? I have been so uncomfortable in this pregnancy - have had what feels like constant BH since 20 wks which make me double over & leave me unable to move. But the SPD is something else - taking Cocodamol too but hate being dosed up.
Jvic28 - Know we can't give med advice but this is what I've done...I saw my midwife - they referred me to a physio who can gave me exercises & tips on how to sleep etc. Physio also gave me support belt too. Always try & keep my knees together & avoid twisitng round. I have been in so much pain para hasn't helped so saw doc he prescribed cocodamol (which you can buy over the counter) and so I get it for free. I find heat works well when I have to wait for tabs to kick in - hot water bottle & deep bath. Also - just cos you are due to have a midwife appt in a few weeks doesn't mean you have to wait until then you can make an appt for asap. I was screened for all STI's & HIV/Aids as a matter of routine with both pregnancies.
Nikabella & Leopard Lady - how are you both now?
Bio Oil - I saw a cheapo version in Savers next to the Bio Oil - it was only £2 - can't remember what it was called but had similar packaging & said was for same things - wonder if its worth a try.
You should get your tax credit & child benefit claim forms int he bounty pack you get in hosp.
Nuchal Fold - I'm in Norfolk & this wasn't offered.
Swollen Feet - Crocs are indispensable & great for all the time you will spend on your feet afterwards! All I wore before I got pregnant 1st time was 4 inch heels so I took some persuading!
phew - took me a while to catch up - off to bed now fingers crossed i can get comfy.
Nite everyone Gem x

My day was rubbish!!
OH got up to take his van back to work and he was walking to his mum's from there and she brought him back here so she could see chris too.
Then OH took Chris with him to drop dyson off to be fixed, I said I'd saty here and have a shower (don't like having shower while I'm alone with Chris as he makes a mess and also now scared he'll fall down the stairs again and I wouldn't be able to get to him as quick) I was catching up on here 1st thoand still was when he got home, Chris went in the kitchen and ignored our calls for him to come back so OH just flew into a rage like the hulk or summat, stomped in the kitchen screamed at and smacked Chris then came in here and literally snatched webby off me ripping the plug n mouse out and screaming (Chris understandably was screaming crying while this was going on)
When I told him to stop be ridiculous and give me back my webby he told me to f-off so I grabbed Chris, 'ran' upstairs and calmed him (while trying to not cry coz I seriously thought if I tried to do anything like snatch webby back he would have hit me) so I just got Chris calm shoved some clothes on and squirted some deo on then went out in the car. I headed for mum's as its close and she has everything needed to look after Chris but she was out so we dognapped my Meg and went to a local walk thing http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=89718&id=541141775&l=1f00278e31
We had a lovely time but Im not speaking to OH and don't know what to do:(
He doesn't get proper angry often but when he does he gets a real red mist and the last 2 times he's lost it I have seriously been scared and both times Chris was there screaming in tears, I don't want to bring up my children with a dad like that but I just feel 'stuck' at the moment, I love OH but I can't live with someone who can't control their anger and most certainly will not allow my babies to grow up witnessing that!!sorry I know you lot can't do anything but I don't really have anyone to talk to
