I have managed to get the stickiness off the kitchen surfaces... unloaded the DW, reloaded it & set it off, done the drying up, done the washing up (stuff that doesn't go in the DW), put some more stuff into soak, emptied the car, frozen the bits of cake that didn't sell today and were OK to freeze (the rest have been left to try to sell tomorrow).
My brother has delivered my kayak, paddle, seat & life jacket, all of which has been put away.
Floor is still very sticky, and probably needs a hands-and-knees wash.
Supper is on the (recently washed!) hob defrosting. Not nearly as nice as soappie's suggestion for toots! I think we need to send soappie up for a visit to help you conquer your fear of cooking toots... but I'm more concerned about what you're going to eat/how you're going to look after yourself while you're having the treatment, as you'll be tired. Maybe soappie should do you a menu plan, cooking instructions and shopping list for the next few days that can include extra portions to freeze & MW over the next couple of weeks? Lots of hugs and prayers winging their way over to you. Let us know if we can help.
blueberrypie - your mistake on the fridge was not to have cleaned it out before filling it... if you'd told toots that you'd cleaned it yesterday before filling it up she probably would have given you the star!
rach - good luck with the application. I haven't really looked at anything since the one I didn't get an interview for. I keep forgetting to call recruiters back (I suspect I would if the jobs sounded interesting enough!)
froddy - I forgot to give you the coins. I won't get to the London meet, but hopefully we can catch up again soon.
boddy - don't let this woman get you down (and don't you dare call her a friend - she's not. If she's anything, she's an acquaintance, but she is NOT your friend). You've done incredibly well on the weight loss, and you're obviously well suited to the work at the hospital. Not many people are considerate enought to remember that receptionists need to eat and drink too.
I didn't get on last night as I was baking/icing cakes. We had a presentation on the new org structure, and it appears... but we may be misinterpreting it... that my team is being combined with another one, so I'll have to wait and see whether I'm mapped into the role or whether the other manager is. I think I'm in as strong position given the economic climate and business priorities, but I'm not going to count my chickens. Hopefully I'll know in the next few weeks.
My dad has called to tell me my mother went into hospital today. She has ulcerative colitis, and was hospitalised 3 years ago when she had the norwalk virus (she ended up in an isolation ward in intensive care for several days). Apparently a friend who stayed at the weekend had severe D&V, so she's obviously caught it and can't deal with it - she's had a couple of litres of fluid and is now pretty much rehydrated, but is being kept in so that they can keep an eye on her. They've obviously got a bit too relaxed at home about how vulnerable she is, as she shouldn't have been in a position to catch any germs. Please remember everyone, it's important to wash your hands, not just for yourself, but for other people you may be in contact with. Kazm - this may change my plans for the weekend, but I'll let you know.0 -
Apologies for the massively long list, I don't think I'll get much done before Friday now. Just heading off to do the washing up and I'll do as much of the kitchen as I can at the same time.DH is finishing studying about 10pm so I'll finish then so we can actually spend some time together! I must be tired, I accidentally edited my list much higher up the thread and then wondered why i couldn't find it at the end!
boddy - well done on the weight loss. some days those kind of people really get to you. I think she's probably jealous of you getting on well with everyone at the hospital. try and forget it, i know it's hard though!

Greenbee love - big, big 'get over the D&V stuff and rehydrate IMMEDIATELY' vibes going your Mum's way.
And also vibes that the powers that be realise you are totally indespensible and that you survive the change around and get a higher paid position as a result because they realise they value your knowledge of the whole business rather than the bit you're working in at the moment.
That was an awfully long sentence... but is still, hopefully, grammatically correct. The sentiment expressed is more than correct - it's True!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

greenbee - a bit the same for me with jobs, this is the first one I've been interested enough in to do something about! I think it would be a good career move too. best wishes to your mum and speedy get well vibes too.
toots - keep forgetting to say - let us know if there's anything we can do. Not sure I can send meals in the post but happy to help you plan them, though I suspect soappie's more than up to the job!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0
