Chilly now, been at footie training for an hour. Said I'd stay so me and DS3 could have a kick about.
Soappie - how come you can cook so good? Can you give me good receipes for spag bol and lasagna (sp) some time - mine are never that great.
DS2 crashed and burnt after insisting he was well enough for training.
Need to get the last of the washing off the line and then iron whilst The Apprentice is on.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Years and years of experience (starting at an early age by watching my Mum make a banquet out of fridge bottom stuff because we were poor at the time) and reading lots and lots and lots and then some more cookery books. Plus years of experimentation.
Spag bol and lasagna are vary variable. Probably, what would be best, is for you to PM me the recipes you use and I'll suggest how you might improve on them.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

You ready Toots?
OK - get the salmon fillet out the freezer and defrost in the MW (am guessing about 10 mins will do - but you know better than me!)
Put the oven on around 180 deg C (gas mk 4) to warm up whilst the salmon is defrosting.
Meanwhile, chop up some pepper and onion and some mushrooms. (you don't need to chop a whole one of everything, just enough for you to eat tonight)
Chop some of the brocolli into really small florets (almost the tiniest of tiny twigs).
When salmon is defrosted, put the rice on to boil (if you have a veg stock cube, add that to the water when it's just started to boil) and get a baking tray or a small dish and plonk some foil on it - enough to wrap the salmon into a parcel. Grease it a bit with some oil or butter or marg (to prevent the salmon sticking to it), put a knob of butter on top (or olive oil), add a small sprinkle of mixed herbs, if you have any - or dill is even better, some black pepper and a tiny bit of salt)
Wrap the salmon up in the foil so it's sealed then shove it in the oven. (If you have no foil, you can put it in a casserole dish which has a cover).
When the rice comes to the boil, lob the broccoli in with it, stir and put the lid back on. After 10 minutes of rice boiling, turn the heat off the saucepan and leave it. DO NOT PEEK!
At that point, do a sort of stir fry with the pepper, onion and mushroom for about five minutes or so - throw in some black pepper if you like. Once that's ready, everything else will be.
And voila, broccoli rice with baked salmon fillet and a stiry fry of peppers, mushrooms and onion on the side a la Soappie. Quick and wholesome. If you're feeling really adventurous, you could grate a bit of parmesan over the peppers bit...
My view is it's important you eat properly this weekend Toots to build you up. The frozen soups will be much better used once you in treatment.
Love and hugs xxx

Truth is I only have one cuppa while Im there. But Ive turned it round and Im going to use her as the incentive to lose the weight. Sorry for the ramble pigpen but I can talk to you on here about this.
Well done you - it's how you handle toxic people like this that will make you succeed - and well done in loosing the weight! :T:T:T We will celebrate with you every time if you need it...
Just read further down too, Hugs to you Boddy, you don't need people like that in your life, and if she keeps on, confront her if you feel you can, or speak to someone else so they can see whats happening too. It's very hard and my heart goes out to you - you just keep taking tea to the receptionists and speaking to people you need to - don't take any notice if you can. x x xAnd voila, broccoli rice with baked salmon fillet and a stiry fry of peppers, mushrooms and onion on the side a la Soappie.
