Toots take care of yourself honey - your ingredients sound ideal for spaghetti bolognaise, or a chilli if you have some chilli powder or paprika. I'm currently making a spinach and ricotta lasagne for the first time ever, and kinda guessing how much of everything I need. Will let you know how it turns out, and if it works, will post my recipe. The tomato sauce is on the hob reducing at the moment.
Still got some washing up left to do on the side, and obviously there will be more after I've finished cooking too, so think I'll leave OH to do that lot after dinner. I'm fed up with washing up for today.
Right, off to make the spinach and ricotta part otherwise I won't have it ready in time to layer up with the tomato sauce.
Will pop back on when it's in the oven. Can I guess that tomorrow's room will be the bathroom and study as we haven't had those yet? Will defrag the pc in a minute then, as that is usually on the list.

ETA that yes it is the bathroom and study tomorrow. *Goes off to copy list into word.*Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
When I had my fire safety check (and new smoke alarms put up) a couple of years or so ago, I had three nice firemen in the house and their engine with a buddy in it parked up outside!

I had that when I was going to be a childminder - only I had all 4 in at once (oooh errrr mrs...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) It was great fun though, big fire truck outside and everything...toottifrootti wrote: »Off to find food and ............ dont quite know where to start .........I am now a bit stressed to be honest!!!! Been through the fridge and freezer as well. There's loads of fresh fruit in the fridge and I'm surprised to find space in my freezer even though I've got loads of stuff in there already
Just munching my way through some scotch pancakes I found that are best before yesterday and looking over my inventory which is pretty impressive.
Meanwhile I've also been decluttering the films on the freeview box
Van Helsing, Grease 2 and now Firewall (almost) gone. Only Interview with a Vampire and then programmes I tape this week (including some for DD) to go
Right, I need to have something other than 3 pancakes to eat so I'm off to try and make a decision as to what I'll have... :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
You ready Toots?
OK - get the salmon fillet out the freezer and defrost in the MW (am guessing about 10 mins will do - but you know better than me!)
Put the oven on around 180 deg C (gas mk 4) to warm up whilst the salmon is defrosting.
Meanwhile, chop up some pepper and onion and some mushrooms. (you don't need to chop a whole one of everything, just enough for you to eat tonight)
Chop some of the brocolli into really small florets (almost the tiniest of tiny twigs).
When salmon is defrosted, put the rice on to boil (if you have a veg stock cube, add that to the water when it's just started to boil) and get a baking tray or a small dish and plonk some foil on it - enough to wrap the salmon into a parcel. Grease it a bit with some oil or butter or marg (to prevent the salmon sticking to it), put a knob of butter on top (or olive oil), add a small sprinkle of mixed herbs, if you have any - or dill is even better, some black pepper and a tiny bit of salt)
Wrap the salmon up in the foil so it's sealed then shove it in the oven. (If you have no foil, you can put it in a casserole dish which has a cover).
When the rice comes to the boil, lob the broccoli in with it, stir and put the lid back on. After 10 minutes of rice boiling, turn the heat off the saucepan and leave it. DO NOT PEEK!
At that point, do a sort of stir fry with the pepper, onion and mushroom for about five minutes or so - throw in some black pepper if you like. Once that's ready, everything else will be.
And voila, broccoli rice with baked salmon fillet and a stiry fry of peppers, mushrooms and onion on the side a la Soappie. Quick and wholesome. If you're feeling really adventurous, you could grate a bit of parmesan over the peppers bit...
My view is it's important you eat properly this weekend Toots to build you up. The frozen soups will be much better used once you in treatment.
Love and hugs xxxI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Evening everyone.
Toots Ive done the bathroom today.
Managed to get the sofa and chair covers on without too much swearing.
Jake has been in his new cat bed but not happy he cant be on sofa.
New pillows bought.
Have got some more washing in.
Im a bit down tonight. I went to SW and was over the moon to have lost 2.5lb. Then the edge was taken off a bit. Someone who I used to be friends joined to tonight and she said Im surprised you have lost weight all the tea you drink at the hospital. I just said you can have tea on the plan and walked away. She has started at the hospital too in the tea room but is always having digs. Truth is I only have one cuppa while Im there. But Ive turned it round and Im going to use her as the incentive to lose the weight. Sorry for the ramble pigpen but I can talk to you on here about this.
nicki Well done on getting your NVQ.
SS Glad you are having a good time.
Toots Big hugs. Im sending you positive calming vibes.

Tea? TEA? Is banned from SW?:eek::eek: I would have thought that was fine as long as there's not too many spoons of sugar in it.
What a horrible person Boddy - I bet she's just jealous because you've done so well.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
