I know, DH asks me all the time when Torchwood is coming back! I too am a John Barrowman fan, but I think he would go more for DH than for me...very sad bout that!! But I have to say I agree with him!

There was a bit in the paper today someone asking when it was back on but the BBC will only say later this year. Spoilsports!

I will tell my mum, she will be interested.
Agatha Christie based Miss Marple on her grandmother, I wonder who she based Poirot on!

That's SERIOUSLY interesting RoseP - do tell us more! I believe AC based Poirot on some random belgian refugee she had spotted during the first world war.

I don't know anymore, just saw that bit of info on the tv once. Interesting about Poirot - in "the mysterious affair at styles" that's why he comes over isn't it. He seems a lot more normal in that, less finickity! (I've only ever seen the David Suchet tv productions, never read the books). It must be great to see someone and write a whole story about them. Maeve Binchy allegedly goes to Dublin airport to listen to people's conversations (in a nice way) and get inspiration for a story. Imagine writing a whole novel based on a snippet of someone's conversation! I often see interesting people and wonder what their lives are like, perhaps I should write a book about them!

Do you mean finishing it off as in eating it??? Ohhh, can I help you declutter that? :rotfl:numnum
Good luck with the meringue - however it works out... I always buy mine so am very impressed that you cooked your own.

LOL...no I meant complete making it. I had made the base and just needed to 'finish off' the white chocolate/cheese/double cream mix.

The pav turned out fine, but I think in future I will start off with a higher temperature and reduce as soon as I put it in my rubbish oven. In fact, the pav was really popular, so I dont think I'll be bringing any back. Plenty of white chocolate cheesecake left, so I will need a help to declutter that tomorrow. I trust I can rely on you flypeople ;):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

toots - I thought that would amuse you! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I've just nipped back to the house for 5 mins to take my drugs. I do love my family but they are all VERY LOUD!!!!!!

LilySue, I’m so glad your mum has joined the library but I don’t know how she got to that age without joining! I couldn’t survive! I can’t afford to buy new books very often, and don’t have enough storage to keep lots of books, so the library is my favourite place! I order the ones I want as my library is quite a small village one

Yes I'm very pleased for her, and it marks a real attitude change. When I was a little girl, she was quite anti-reading, I think it was all part of her feelings that education is over rated, which was hard for me as a very booky child.

The french market is in Norwich where I live, not in your area I guess ? Fun, but expensive and busy.

That's really nice that she's changed like that. I used to go to the library as a child and get out my 6 books that we were allowed to take out and then have read them by the next day! Fortunately my mum and dad are big readers too.
No Norwich is too far to go to. We do sometimes get an Italian market in the village, but I always seem to miss it!

During WW1 a lot of refugees came over from Belgium. A big house near me which was, way back when, owned by the council, became a hostel for belgian refugees. And, once the war was over, reverted to a council house again (three flats if I recall correctly). Sadly, it is now no more and a block of 13 flats takes its place.

You should read at least one AC book. The TV productions are, generally, quite faithful (apart from some of the Geraldine McEwan ones) to the plot. They are very easy reading. Not too heavy, but not too light. In fact, if you fancy PMing me your address, I'll pop the copy of Nemesis that I bought a couple of months or so ago (to see which TV production was the most faithful to the original plot) in the post to you. It's a bit dog eared and worn (the dog tried to read it a couple of times, and I read it in the bath a couple of times) but you're more than welcome to it.
