Hi folks! Last night before bed I put away the dry washing, discovered that the power had turned off on the WM so it had stopped halfway through it's cycle
, so restarted it and cleaned the sink in the bathroom. It took ages, it was filthy! My plan is to clean the loo tonight before bed! And to do some washing up hopefully.
Had a good night's sleep and a nice morning with a friend, and a very nice nap this afternoon so feeling much better today! And now we are watching Finding Nemo! Britain's Got Talent is on tonight, I'm so happy, I love the auditions more than the actual show! When they see all the nutters!
SarahShattered Mum says we are going to E. Devon near the Somerset border between Exeter and Taunton
Have a lovely holiday Katie, where are you going again?
Rach, I would love a pack of promotional stuff thanks, and walking the Thames Path sounds nice. Maybe saving it til you feel better is good, and I liked your cunning plan of plying your OH with beer! (haven’t fully caught up with today’s thread, so if you did go on the walk well done!)
Sammiel hope things improve in your DH’s business. It’s lovely that you care so much about his employees and I’m sure they appreciate it
SSL and Soappie, I looooooovvvvveeeee Eton Mess!
LilySue, I’m so glad your mum has joined the library but I don’t know how she got to that age without joining! I couldn’t survive! I can’t afford to buy new books very often, and don’t have enough storage to keep lots of books, so the library is my favourite place! I order the ones I want as my library is quite a small village one
Tag, pleased to hear your brother is coming home safe and nice to hear your DS being so civilised!
Flower, hope things improve with your DS, take deep breaths! Before you batter him!
Piggers, glad you had a good night’s sleep and fun at the pub
Boddy, my granddad’s dog is always terrified of my dad, and he was a rescue dog, so we think that my dad reminded him of who ever owned him before. Hope your cat recovers soon and comes in again
OK, going to do more catching up on the thread now"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Evening everyone.
Had a lovely afternoon with little bro, his wife and my nephew and niece. Food was brill, even if I do say so myself. We had a boozy lunch and then an amble round the park after that.
As the family archivist, all the old photos and stuff have ended up with me so we had a jolly time going through some of them after the walk. Found a photo of the inside of an airplane cockpit. Black and white, taken by my Dad, I believe, but we've no idea what plane it was and why he took it! So I'm going to post it on an aviation forum to see if they can help out.
I'll reproduce it here, just in case one of you know
It's a salutory lesson really - there were so many photos without names. If you have a few spare minutes every so often, make sure you write on the back details of who, where and when.
ETA - you get a gazillion bonus points if you can name the pilot and co-pilot
ETA again - and a gazillion billion bonus points if you can name the navigator by identifying his knee!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Thats sounds like a lovely day soappie - love the photo - its the sort of ones I use to look through at my uncle's when i was a youngster - he was a Flight Lieutenant, IIRC.
I was at Mr A earlier and they had a whole salmon for £10 - is that as good a buy as the tesco one?
I have cut the front grass - I maybe will have to rethink the garden this year as I really struggled and it is only tiny.
It been a nice but a little blowy day so it was nice to be outside and I met my new neighbour - a young man from the Czech republic - not a lot of english but he managed to tell me his wife and 2year old son will be coming so that is why he has been busy doing up the flat. makes a change from the last lot who did nothing - he has even started on the garden.

Yes, I expect so. The two I got from Mr. T - one was about £10 and the other about £13. They were big boys!
And how nice to meet your new neighbour and that he's doing the garden.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Hi Zippy, nice to have you joining us, it’s nice here!
Nicki, even if you put the pound back on, it’s good that you lost it first! Otherwise if you hadn’t lost a pound you would be heavier than before you started if you see what I mean? Keep on trying! I would love to get a Wii fit if we had room to do anything with it here!
Fedupandskint glad you survived the hornets and spiders, I hate hornets!
Boddy, glad your mum had a nice visit, that will be good for her, even if she’s a bit confused
LilySue where was the French market? Sounds wonderful! Glad your mum liked the library.
Carol, have a nice time at your parents, well done on cleaning the oven!
Flower, I’m jealous of your beef, I’m never allowed beef as DH doesn’t like it. We had a lovely roast pork earlier tho, it was delicious. He made a delicious sweet kind of gravy don’t know how! I think the honey from the parsnips were in it.
Tag well done with your ironing! You’ve done well! How far off the ground is your TV, it’s not mounted on the wall 7 inches from the ceiling is it? LOL!
Soappie, the bloke on the left looks like Louis Theroux! Is that any help? And the navigator was David Tennant…
Toots, how nice to meet your new neighbour, he sounds nice. I often find foreign people are lovely. I love meeting people from other cultures and places! And it sounds like he cares about his environment. You will have to get the wife to come on here when she comes over!
I've caught you all up now! Happy days!
For those of you with kids watching Dr Who - interesting story about the bus. This weeks episode is filmed in Dubai. About 6 weeks before filming they shipped a bus over there. It was kept at the docks, but then one week before filming a huge crate off a ship fell on it! It was completely crushed. There was no time to ship over a new one, so they got some panel beaters to panel beat it back again! That's why it looks so battered! They had to rewrite the story a little bit so that the bus gets bashed in the wormhole to explain why it looks so rough!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

isn't it obvious? the one on the left is Bob, the one on the right is John and the navigator is mr. smith0 -
Since my last post I've erm... washed up, took the double glazing film off the back of the frontdoor, put the oil heater away under the stairs (including hoovering the carpet under there, sorting out the dumping area
and putting coats upstairs that need to go up as I forgot the other day) and washed all the cleaning cloths as I'd run out again. I think I need to buy some more
A trip to Poundland is called for on Tuesday with DD.
Now I'm just doing some weedkilling out the back with boilling water as the dandelions are trying to take over  I've swept it as well. Its looking rather bare though, I might have to get some bedding plants to try and do something out there, although my clematis is heaving with flower buds
