I have just applied, got the following response:
Thank you for your application for a Vanquis Visa Card. Unfortunately we are unable to give you an instant decision, but we'll be in touch within 10-14 working days.
I aint holding much hope, last time I looked at my credit file I had CIFAS markers (over two years ago) and they do state that there must be no reasonable suspicion of fraud, but thats what a CIFAS marker is, oh well!
what annoys me is, how am I supposed to get myself out of this rut if no one will take a 'punt' on me! I have grown up now, and want to make right what is wrong! :mad:0 -
I got the sam message but still got a card.
One thing I don't like is not having any online facilities.0 -

How long is a piece of string mate? Usually when they accept you, you'll get a stream of missed calls until they speak to you and try and sell the usual PPI and cash advance (always say no! it does not affect their decision).....

18 days for me from application online to recieving my card and only the 1 phone call too!!0

Account Number:
I refer back to my previous letter requesting that you lower my current interest rates. I called Vanquis asking for a response regarding my letter and was told that you were unable to lower my interest rates.
My purchase interest rates currently stands at 54.19% APR, which I believe to be astronomically high considering my perfect credit history with Vanquis and other lenders. A simple credit check will show that I have not missed any repayments nor exceeded my credit limit on any credit agreement and that I have several mainstream credit cards that come with rates as low as 19.9%.
Unfortunately because of your unwillingness to lower my interest rates, I have no option but to request that my account be closed effective immediately. I have enjoyed being a Vanquis customer and the service I have received has been outstanding, however I simply cannot continue to spend on my card at the current rate as it stands.
I await confirmation that the account is closed.

Going to send something similar myself.I dont know how they work out their intrest rates,i have 6 credit accounts all paid on time no defaults and Vanquis still see fit to rip my eyes out with their exuberent rates.Please let me know how you get on.0
