I got my third statement this morning and I have got my first credit limit increase to £500:j

I celebrated by paying off the full balance for the first time, I had been leaving a balance on the card to let Vanquis earn £2 interest a month from me. I only ever use the card for booking cheap travelodge deals and petrol, but it is a useful card to have though. Now to push for the £1000 limit.

    Hey Rob

Nice one on getting the limit increase..... Getting the £1k limit sounds great in theory - my mate elky on here has over £3k limit but the only problem is the APR - :rotfl:

Assume he spent up on his APR of 54% then for every £3k he's paying back over £1620 in interest :eek::eek:

  • Just posted on another thread, recieved my card today 18days after applying! Initial £250 limit

    Apr of 34.08

Its just another card on top of my Cap1 so I've got more history when I hopefully go mainstream in Nov.

More nice (0's) here I come.

  • When you get an increase, it is shown on your statement and you also get another letter a few days later. They also give you a phone number to ring if you don't want the increase as well. Hopefully if they offer me the gold card, I shall apply for mainstream card instead, but for the moment Vanquis will do me fine.
  • Hi All

Applied for a Vanquis card online 15th July - my experian repot shows they searched me on this date too.

Had a letter from Vanquis 3rd August requesting copy of passport, utility bill and 3 original payslips

Is this normal procedure? Rang them today as they have sent back my documentation but they said my application was still being processed....it has been a month since I made the application, why do they take so long to say yes/no?

I'm considering closing my Vanquis at the end of the month. They haven't replied to my letter demanding lower rates. No point having that available credit on my credit file if I can't use it.

Hopefully Sygma will give me a bigger limit on a 3rd card once it's closed. :D

Perfectly normal mate - means you have been accepted, they just want to confirm you. Its rare for them to decline after sending that ID in. Just sit tight and you'll get a call a few days after to confirm.....
